Actually, I'm coming back tonight to merge this into an existing Josh Howard thread. But gotta post and run b/c of a 2:15 meeting.

Per a Wiz tweet:

Howard mentioned possibly the Charlotte and Chicago home games (dec. 20th and 22nd) but again no official timetable.

Would be nice to see Howard back in time for Charlotte on the 20th.

I'll believe it when I see it. This guy and our medical staff is not a good mix.

Is it bad I forget he is on the team?

I was kinda thinking they would bring him back for one of the huge marquee
games this month, either LA or MIA. But it's lately seemed as though that
would be pretty unlikely.

I think the bigger question is how much will he offer by way of improvement
at the SF at such time as he is ready to play. He played really well in 3+ games
for us. He's been an AS in the west. He was the 2nd/3rd best player on a Finals
team. But that all seems like it was in another lifetime.

well in the game before that is the start of a 3 game home streak so why not come back in that one? Because its the Heat and he wants to start with a win, thats why.....lol

Seriously though, I could see him coming back against the Bulls just to say he came back against the same team he got hurt against. However, maybe that would be a bad omen

If he is just 80% of what he was he will have a big impact, not just because he is a good player but because of the domino effect on the rotations.

I wouldn't expect too much out of the gate. Its going to take him some time to get back into the flow again. He could temporarily set us back a little more as he and everyone else adjusts roles again.

He wants to start by helping on D.

Music to our ears.

Howard still wouldn't offer a specific timetable. When asked if he would be back for either the Lakers on Dec. 14 or Miami on Dec. 18, Howard said, "I can honestly say I don't know, but I hope that next week [is when it happens]. Charlotte [Dec. 20] or Chicago [Dec. 22] might be better for me."

Howard said he already knows how he can best help the Wizards as he eases his way back. "Mentally, I can go out there and start it on the defensive end with us. I know I've always been able to lead by example with that. So I think that will be a big help with this team. Just keep working on my offense until it comes. I already know that's going to come. But I think defense is the key and me coming back helps that out a lot."

Well, as bad as it has been for us in the W L column the last few years, at least we have something that looks like it could be productive this year once we get them all playing.

I'll be looking forward to seeing some

Gil, Nick, Howard, Dray and McGee
Wall, Nick, Howard, Dray, McGee
Wall, Gil, Howard, Dray, McGee

Thats is 6 viable performers who can all play NBA level ball. I just hope McGee gets back to his break out form. Hard to complain about what Nick has been bringing.

Howard has been targeting a return against Charlotte on Dec. 20 or Chicago on Dec. 22 - which would be exactly eight months since he tore his anterior cruciate ligament against the Bulls. But he hasn't ruled out coming back sooner.

Howard out with soreness to the same knee that was operated on before. I hope Ernie's fetish for signing injury-prone players ends with Josh Howard.

Absolutely shocking to hear Josh Howard's surgically repaired knee is bothering him. I know the medical staff provided him with the best care possible during the rehab process. Obviously this is just a fluke situation that he's having trouble with the same knee. I'm sure he'll be fine and back playing at an all-star level soon.

+1 Who could have foreseen that a player with an injury history would be a bad signing gamble? :dontknow:

This is the primary reason I am fed up with Leonsis, his insistence on staying the course and maintaing status-quo with an organization like this one is absolutely unacceptable as far as I'm concerned.
