He doesn't even deserve his own thread. Bandwidth shouldn't be wasted on such losers.

Yi had a horrible game, I mean just putrid. He hit three 15 footers and Saunders thought he was Lambier for the next 2 qtrs. I can't explain why he left him in there when he was playing like that. Saunders needs to treat players the same because McGee wouldn't have had the same rope.

He was dreadful. I could see why so many fans hated on him before.

I think we, I included are hard on him because he is so damn soft. It doesn't help that he is a 7 footer who plays like he`s 6`0.

He had a bunch of momentum killing turnovers and was getting pushed around by Odom on the glass. Worst game of the year for Yi

Alright, did you guys see these John Wall Zig Tech's over on BF?

Image

It's the Great Wall of China along with (presumably) Mandarin script.

Are these being sold in China, or what? He's suddenly wearing them in a game against the Lakers and with Yi starting - this is not a random night in Milwaukee here. Even if they're not release versions, it's a bit, well, suspicious.

And never mind that Wall and Yao are both Reebok guys while Wall and Yi have the same agent. Asian Heritage night with Yao in town......

And what basketball people anywhere would ever say the following?

"You know what would compliment Blatche and McGee, Milt? OK, I want you to picture this; close your eyes now. Ready? Ok, here goes: Yi Jianlian! Another finesse big with a history of poor rebounding, soft play and bad hands! Can I pick 'em, Milt? Can I pick 'em, or what?"

Nope, I still think we're selling sneakers here.

Someone should bump the Yi trade thread from the summer.

He is one of the softest players i have ever seen. Last night it was painful to watch such a strong all around team effort blown by one guy.

Your image didn't show hoop--post it again and maybe I can translate. Anyway, a message for Yi, from me.

易建联:世界上最差的篮球员就是你。看你打求让我想吐。赶快离开这个球队,谢谢。

Well, I'm seeing the image here, but it's right on the front page of the Bullet's Forever Lakers Open Game Thread:

It's down at the bottom.

The characters I can make out are on the right side, "energy" and "basketball" placed together. I think that fits the Reebok ad campaign...

I have absolutely no complaints about Yi. He is more than exceeding management's expectations on two critical fronts:

1) His suckage is improving our lottery prospects significantly.
2) For one season, his presence does promote the Wizards' brand for long term marketing purposes
in China.

He will be a distant memory this time next year.

Oh man, remember the rumor about the Wizards extending Yi before the season? All I can say is thank God Almighty that it didn't happen.

I'm counting the days until Yi is gone. He got me in trouble last night. I stayed up late to watch the game, and then when I crawled into bed around 1am, I woke up my wife cause I was muttering under my breath about how much Yi sucked! Now she hates Yi too...

I think the Yi trade thread from last summer was the first time i posted here, just to chime in about how bad Yi was. It seemed like most people were indifferent to the deal but i remember one guy was going a little postal about it. Just out of curiosity i wanted to see who it was.

Turns out it was Nate.

nate33 wrote:I agree with Fishercob. This trade is an abomination. I can't believe we just bailed the nets out of their cap space situation and didn't get any pick for it. Yi sucks. He's an utterly worthless player that no one is going to want on their team next year. Hell, if Blatche is hurt, I'd much rather start Al Thornton at PF (with Cartier Martin handling SF duties) than play Yi.

I can't believe I spent the last week defending EG in the Hinrich trade, only for EG to undermine me like this. Dat2U is right. EG doesn't know what he is doing.

At least he's a terrible defender too!

I can one-up you.

Here is the list of guys 6-8 or taller, in the shot clock era, who have managed to play at least 25 minutes a game while posting a FG% less than 41% and a rebound rate less than 8 rebounds per 36 minutes:

Pretty much on target there. Some good comedy in that thread though.

Hard to see him play for another nba team if his suckage continues. The guy doesn't have the mental strength or bball IQ. Seems to get worst every year. He plays well once in 2 months . Not good enough. He might be playing for shanghai sharks this time next year.

Flip should be fired for playing Yi after last night. Yi is worse than Armstrong. At least Armstrong can give a hard foul. Yi is a timid waste of a 7 footer.

Wizards should trade Hinrich, release Yi, release Armstrong and play N'Diaye; and they should FIRE Flip Saunders.

This team is poorly coached. Lose playing young players. Play Arenas, Wall, and Young at the G spots. If Arenas didn't have the contract I'd say buy him out.

I hate this team right now.

Yi looks unbelievably awful, but let's not confuse the situation. EG took a free shot at a young, athletic 7 footer on a 1 year contract. Young players develop, like Nick Young, pun intended.

He'll be gone at no cost so no worries here. Now I just hope that he doesn't see the floor anymore between now and then.
