Re: The Amazingly Sucky Theodore Leonsis Thread
Maybe Laurene Jobs really is interested in sports.
However, this sounds like a deal where Ted is bringing a very rich friend who runs in the same tech money philanthropic circles into ownership. She'll be a reliable ally for things he's interested in, and some of her interests involve policy advocacy, so it makes sense for her to raise her profile in DC.
Monumental Sports is probably a good investment, and a good way for her to diversify a little, given that her wealth mainly consists of Disney and Apple stock.

The fact that Bron has the 76ers on his list of teams he is considering, is a major accomplishment to their FO and rebuild efforts.

Wasn't Ted the key person in getting Michael Jordan involved with the Wizards? Ted could include that in the pitch--"look how well Jordan ending his career in DC worked out."

Ted has an ego problem. He thinks he can come up with a plan and then even an idiot can follow it and be successful. He is wrong.

Turd so badly wants to be the smartest guy in the room it's sickening. I'm waiting for the typical "makes for interesting pixels" twitter post soon.

The few supportive replies stand out oddly, as if Terd could shoot someone on F street in front of everyone and they would still love him. I'm very worried about the sanity of anyone who supports him. We need to call a doctor right now.

Re: The Amazingly Sucky Theodore Leonsis Thread
Ted, IMO, was an overrated jerk in his AOL days. He's a charismatic guy -- my one and only meeting with him was memorable and fun -- but back then he was much more impressed with his own ideas than he should have been.
He also had a bucket list -- although the term hadn't been invented yet then -- with about 100 items on it. I question whether slogging through responsible business execution featured in any of them.
As a basketball fan, I get the impression little has changed since.
