1st game thread and I obviously screwed up alot of it but Im too tired to fix it now. Maybe Ill fix it or add some more later but then again our team is screwed up and isnt worth the hassle just yet so Ill leave it damaged until we earn an upgrade....lol

is anyone else tired of eg's responses to the media about trades? hes always "reserving judgment about the team" until were healthy. does he really think josh howard will fix our interior defense and rebounding deficiencies?

I'm not sure what the Wizards can give up to get a quality big man at this point that will be a long term solution. Wizards have to take their lumps, wait for young guys to develop (Booker and Seraphin), and maybe add those quality guys in the draft.

It's not like EG is going to say to the reporter: "Yeah, it's true. We suck. And I don't see any helpful trades in the future because we don't have any decent trade assets except John Wall."

I am. I am tired of excuses. I just want someone to say "our play is unacceptable" or something along those lines. I know we're not a good team, but I am just sick of excuse after excuse and I think it really shows something about the mindset of the franchise.

Flip constantly says out play in unacceptable--then half the board posts how much they hate how hard he is on our young bigmen who are a large part of why we suck thus far this year.

I'm glad the Wiz are getting a few days rest, for sure. Hopefully they had a day off + a few light practices, because we can't start competing without first getting healthy.

Flip often calls out individuals or groups of the team ("Our bigs have been playing soft") but does he ever call out the team as a whole? I can't remember him doing this. And I know my original post in this thread said "I wish someone would say our play is unacceptable" but I was mostly talking about EG. He's used the injury excuse for the last 6-7 years and I hate it. We haven't been healthy in 7 years and he's still waiting? It's just an excuse. Obviously he's not going to throw himself under the bus, but he's insulting Wizards fans intelligence when he says "we're just waiting to be healthy".

Now that I'm a little calmer, I realize he shouldn't say negative things about players effort on the team - since they are potential trade assets - but I'm sick of the health excuse. Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me. I refuse to be fooled again.

I also don't like the train of thought some fans use that says "well, we were going to suck, you shouldn't be upset". Yes, I realize this but many nights we play with just down right terrible effort yet the excuse from EG is health - that's something that I am rightfully upset about.

Hopefully the Wizards give some effort like they did in LA a week ago, go Wizards!

Exactly. 4 days off is needed right now. Specially with Wall so dinged. I'm sure Gil can use the rest also. Lets not forget he is also returning from injuries. And another 4 days for Dray should get him more right then we have seen all year. He was also injured over the summer and has to play himself back into shape. He looks fresh early after missing two games which was only 3 days and those day were used to get over his hip injury.

The other good news is we get we don't have any back to backs and then after 6 games they get 4 days before come back to play Houston. We have some good team on the sch with LA, SA, Chicago and Miami but we also have some easier teams.

And at some point over this time we will get Howard back who will bolster our bench and help fill a big whole with is consistent SF play and vet experience.

If we are going to play better, this is the time we are going to do it. They have 22 games under their belts and have played though a lot of injuries. They should as healthy as they have been all year and with the full roster available. EG may just finally get his dream. Knock on wood.

I'm holding off judging EG until I see him completely healthy. When he resigned Gil he was suffering from an acute overateoma... And when he burned cap space on Yi he had just had a bout of dreamonitis.

Hours before trading up to pick Booker he had been rushed to the hospital to remove a shouldofpickedblair-type blockage in his brain.

Per the Wizards twitter account -- Wall, Arenas, and Blatche all missed practice today healing up.

Saunders at practice: "as of right now dray is out, @jimmywa11 is very questionable and gil is probable."

Good and bad. Good they're getting rest we all knew they needed, and bad because I didn't even know Gil was ailing... I thought he was just slumping.

I wonder what's wrong with Arenas. I hope it's not the knee.
