There goes Lester Hudson. Again.

Wiz just waived him.

What the heck, can't be to re-sign Alonzo Gee, who's with Cleveland. Maybe Laron?

Question: I wonder what the record is for number of times being waived by the same team in one season?

Maybe a precurser to a big trade?

I don't know anything about him, but Sundiata Gaines was waived by Minnesota a day or two ago, and he's a point guard. We'll need somebody to be a third PG on the roster, hopefully it'll be someone who can actually run our offense.

I dont think we'll sign anyone just yet. Probably leave it open just incase but if we do then it will definitely be a PG and a real one this time

Probably just don't want to guarantee his contract especially since Hinrich and Howard are back tonight.

I think EG is doing exactly what many here advocated. Hudson was re-acquired because we needed an immediate stop gap PG for when HInrich got hurt - and we didn't have time to find and groom a "pure" PG from the D-Leagues.

Now that Hinrich is back, he and Wall should be able to handle all the PG minutes for a few weeks. That buys EG time to go find a real PG to learn the playbook and become our 3rd stringer. Hudson just wasn't the man for the job. The guy can score and defend, but he's no PG.

My guess is that there will soon be an announcement that we have acquired Aaron Miles or someone like that.

Either that, or there's a trade in the works. I'd bet against a trade though. If we were to trade Blatche, I would expect we'd be consolodating expiring contracts like Yi and Thornton to get back another player. We'd be trading many for few. Dumping Hudson would imply a "few for many" trade, which is the opposite of what we need.

With him having been on and off the roster, would his contract be guaranteed? I don't know the rule.

This was predicted. At the time Lester was brought-back, NBA teams could not-yet begin to utilize the 10-day call-up, now they can. My big hope now is that we bring-on Aaron Miles who played for us in SL a few years ago and that we use Kirk's expiring contract next-year.

That caught my eye as well. Gaines would certainly be better as a third PG than Hudson. Gaines has also been in the NBA more recently than Aaron Miles, probably a little bigger too.

Of course my money is on a Blatche trade, but a Gaines signing is fine by me. :D

I'd rather keep Blatche and get a new coach and GM :D

The most obvious and least exciting move after waiving Hudson would be to sign a guy like Gaines.

I think there are only 2 guys who could be involved in deals where the Wizards take back more players. One is Lewis(who could be dealt on his own). The other is Blatche who could be dealt for someone on a rookie deal and salary filler. The is remote chance it could be Yi for 2 guys making 5 million total from a team looking to slide under the luxury tax.
