The time has come. Flip is not the one to lead this team. He has been a massive underachiever all his life and he has filled his coaching staff with underachievers. (No disrespect Sam, I actually like you). He's not a smart coach and I suspect he lets personal feelings get in the way of coaching decisions ala Eddie Jordan. In fact, this whole clusterf*ck reeks of Eddie/Haywood part duex. McGee deserves better than this and Flip is destroying our youth, AND THEY ARE ALREADY SOFT AND MENTALLY WEAK TO BEGIN WITH!!
What Flip did tonight is inexcusable. I've seen Blatche f*ck up far worse and never get benched. He treats McGee like a frikkin chihuahua on a retractable leash. I begin tonight with a litany of never ending emails to Ted voicing my displeasure until my goal is achieved. I hope to see him and that turd Blatche out the door by next season. He can take Ernie with him. Can we please exorcise every last vestige of the old era NOW! It's time to reignite the firebrand once again!

This thread has my vote JWiz. Flip lost this team a long time ago. Whether it was his fault or not, he lost it. Nobody responds to him and this team looks pathetic every night.

0-18 on the road.
Preferential treatment to Blatche and Hinrich
Unduly harsh with McGee
Blames players
Never accepts personal responsibility
Publically humiliates players in media
Consistently loses badly--fourth quarter collapse
Does not play Booker or Seraphin as much as Yi and Armstrong
Lives by the jump shot.
Looking for KG in every big as hard as Shanahan is searching for Elway in every QB
35 wins. 82 losses.
Why bother saying how I feel?

Ya' know, the next three games are the cup-cake portion of things (ie. 1-2), but here's the schedule after that.....
UTH
@ MIL
PHO
BOS
@ NYK
DEN
@ OKC
@ MEM
@ DAL
@ NO
ORL
ATL
MIL
SAS
@ CLE
@ ORL
IND
@ PHI
@ MIA
DAL
CHI
That's through February 28th and could easily be a 4-17 stretch. I'd imagine this might end up being a rather popular thread.
What's the over/under on the number of pages here by February 28th? I'll say maybe 32 new pages between here and the "Grade Flip Saunders" thread (it's at 16 pages now).

Actually, I think I see Ted's plan. He wants high lottery picks and keeping Flip as coach and forcing Grunfeld to not trade the picks, means were going to have lots of ping pong balls for the next couple of years. The sad part is how debilitating it is for young player development to have one of the worst records in league but to still over-play veterans/bums that won't stay like Oberto and Yi. Hopefully Ted flushes the toilet on this bunch in the middle of tanking next year, which should mean three high lottery picks. Sucks for the fans that hate losing, but Wiz fans should be used to it.
The good news is that post Gil the refs aren't reeming us anymore. Almost calling our games even...

I have no faith in Ted.
He retained Grunfeld. Leonsis in doing so tacitly approved of the way EG handled gun gate. It signaled the Arenas trade that ended up Lewis. It meant Ted knew all along when EG said he was moving forward with Gil that he was talking out of both sides of his neck.
Ted kept EG and he brought in Sanders. EG suspended Javale and Andray and in effect called for an air strike on his own position and market value of Blatche and McGee. Fans are divided like the Civil War. Some hate the players. Some hate the coach and/or GM. I prefer the way Memphis handled Allen and Mayo. And Randolph before them.
Since I don't like the coach or GM but Ted's down with them, I've got no faith in Ted.
He's a business man and he owes Flip millions. Flip's losing behind will stay and the players except for Hinrich will each be on the trading block. That's my prediction.

Keep Saunders. I want a good draft pick this year and next year. After that fire him.

Even my non-basketball understanding female companion can tell you that Flip Saunders is a bad coach.

We don't need Flip to secure lotto balls. We can do bad all by ourselves. My concern is Flip destroying an already mentally fragile unit.

So who are we hiring... Eddie Jordan?

He really hurt Gil's, Larry Hughes', Caron's, Antawn's, and Antonio Daniels' careers. With him being a guy respected by even Haywood (they actually communicated cordially after EJ was fired); can't have him. We need a guy like Flip to show the world each mistake Javale makes. No to EJ! He's a bad coach but a terrific mentor who got guys in all star game and in the playoffs. Terrible to have Wall around an actual ex-NBA PG. Fast Eddie once led the league in steals. Not him around Wall!
Before anybody projects on me, I didn't bring up EJ. He is history and not a hire consideration. He's just a name that comes up when folks don't want to consider Flip's lack of success.
KW, I respect your EJ hate and think of you as a great poster. But this thread has NOTHING to do with EJ. He earned his walking papers here and in Philly!
Flip is the guy who is losing AND killing the spirit of young players. He's playing favorites while throwing guys under the bus. He gets the defense much better but the offense is much worse. He's blinded by Blatche in the fourth.
Who to hire? Pick one.
Easiest thing is just make Wittman interim coach. At season end guys like Mike Brown, Bill Laimbeer, Lawrence Frank, Jeff Van Gundy, Reggie Theus, etc will be there.
The one I would pick would not be another re-tread. Dave Joerger is who I would like as coach. Fire Grunfeld and replace him with a Spurs' trained guy. I like Ferry for local ties and image when the team goes back to being the Bullets (if true). I think Budenholzer was mentioned by doc--who I trust implicitly. I also think Kevin Pritchard would be a fine GM.
Flip is realiy bad for a young team.

I was actually being facetious. I don't believe its actually Ted's plan to leave the losing structure in place so we can keep losing to get good picks. I was just trying to make lemonade out of lemon's, which has kept me sane for the past 30 years as a Bullets/Jiz fan.
Flip is an idiot. I'd put that little alien Cassell in charge as head coach. If it works and he's good at managing players and rotations, great. If not, then hire Laimbeer next year. I'd have fired EG a long time ago. He's terrible. I can't believe people try and justify Randy Foye or how he's never drafted a big strong player for around the basket and keeps taking tall and skinny 3 point shooters like Pech and Yi etc. (but let's Singleton go) There is a reason we are the only franchise to not win more than 47 games any time in the past 30 years. San Antonio is the model of a winning and long-term success oriented franchise and we are the model of losing and short-termism. I had high hopes with Ted but have been equally disappointed. Until proven otherwise, we remain the model of losing.
Random comments: damn Desuck is shooting lights out in Dallas. He was much better than Gil today. Would never have anticipated that. Blake Griffin is the real deal. Everyone else's elevator goes to 10, but his goes to 11. Blatche is hurt. He's lost whatever little lift he used to have. No more whooping crane dunks from him. He needs to rest and get proper treatment until that foot is right again.

Bobcats forward Stephen Jackson missed a long jumper and the ball was headed out of bounds. The Wizards would've recorded a defensive stop and claimed possession, but McGee tracked down the ball, leaned over and tapped it right off Nick Young's foot for a turnover. Scouts seated near me cackled and shook their heads. The Wizards only trailed by nine points, but Coach Flip Saunders immediately yanked McGee and Young from the game for good.
Flip "The Punisher" strikes again, he'd rather lose being pissed than motivating his team to rally.

By contrast, Paul Silas saw his team moping in third quarter and called a timeout to say: one thing we never do on my bench is hang our heads. We made our own mess, we just get out there and fix it, no crying, no giving up.
Silas is a guy I always respected as a coach and motivating hardass.
