Hey washington, Raps fan here.

I was wondering what you guys think of Javale McGee. I think that he would be a pretty nice compliment to bargnani here in toronto with his shot blocking, rebounding and interior presence.
I haven't seen a lot of washington games but have looked into his advanced statistics and his 36 per min stats are quite good. How has he played this year, and what do you guys think of him?

do we have any assets which interest you in a trade that is realistic and helps both sides?

McGee is our starting center and the only guy on the roster other than Wall who is a an irreplaceable piece of the team's future. He has plenty of flaws - primarily due to a low basketball IQ, but he has improved tremendously and his ceiling is ridiculous. He is considered a cornerstone. There is no one on the Raptor's roster for whom the Wizards would trade McGee.

McGee's ceiling may be higher than you're average NBA center, however he has a poor BBall IQ, lack of focus in general, the asthma that limits him to under 30 mins a game, and frankly he doesnt really have a good skillset either. And if you're estimating a player's ceiling, I think you also have to assess how likely the player is to reach that ceiling, and McGee has to be near the bottom of that list (he's still getting benched for mental mistakes). He looks good in the open floor because he's an athletic 7 footer, but we're talking about a guy that airballs layups regularly. I certainly wouldnt call him a cornerstone--he's not even a starting calibur center in my book- at least not with Dray starting at the 4. That combo will never work. I know he's shown he can hit a jumper and he's big and can block shots, but he gets lost on defense and he wastes possessions on offense trying to go one on one. I'd even bet that neither Blatche nor McGee will be on the team when it starts winning again.

I'd trade McGee for Ed Davis straight up. Davis is a rookie and he's already light years ahead of McGee mentally, plus you get the idea that he's actually going to work on getting better which seperates him from McGee and Blatche.

My question is how would you compare Haywood to McGee at his age now? I'm a big fan of Haywood and I see McGee as more of a runner or he's trying to be flashy as in a point guard plus a blocker at the 5 spot.

Haywood was more of a system guy playing the 5 spot as in doing what was taught from his coaching trusting his team mates, grabbing boards and put backs.

So what do you think?
