Hey, Flip, we're a bunch of b-ttholes about you sometimes but you know we love you. Now's a difficult time for you and our thoughts and prayers are with you.

Good thread. I definitely feel for him or anyone else in that situation. Its never easy to see a pet go through something like that let alone a human/family member. Hope he finds some peace with it. Bless him & his family

Not sure about this, this is really more of a death-watch thread for Flip's mom really.

Flips mom is 93 and had a full and long life. I am happy for her that she will soon be checking-out. Sorry that the family has to suffer.

For sure. I wish him well in dealing with this.

It has been a rough year for me regarding this stuff. Just lost a close cousin who was only 50. Cancer. It took him in less than a year. Had another relative, a very close Uncle who I spoke to many times a week, passed last year. Just out of no where his heart failed. Strange thing was he eat better than most and worked out. He was in great shape. Then out of not where, he just died. Now my great aunt just passed yesterday. At least she lived a long life. Also lost two other great uncles in a years time. Again, at least they lived long lives.

But the cousin and Uncle where like best friends and they passed before their time.

It's tough.

.

Flip Saunders' mom passed away today. My sympathies are with him and his entire family.

Flip is going to coach the game on Saturday night (vs Minnesota), but will be absent for the game on Sunday at Detroit.

As much stress as coaching the Wizards can be, I hope he takes all the time he needs.

alot of people say that kinda stuff is by design. My mother had a dog one time that the vets wanted to put to sleep and my mother didnt and they felt that she's only staying alive longer just for my mother. Then I had a family friend who was by her husband's side the whole time when he was about to die. Then one day he called her over, told her some sentimental things, told her to go check the mail, and while she was out for 5min checking the mail he died. IDK if Flip's mom was in good enough shape for that kinda control but he's been with her alot lately and I could see her hanging on just long enough until he left

+1 This is very very common indeed.

I'd rather that Flip take some time off to deal with things, he should not be coaching.

different people handle grief differently. After my Dad died, I didn't know what to do with myself except when I was working for a while. Whatever Flip does I feel for him though.

It sounds harsh, but it's true - sometimes it's a blessing for it to be over. Hands, sorry for your losses - and good health to the rest of your family. Flip'll be alright - he knows his mom's proud of him.

Thanks Ruz

We all eventually have to go through this stuff. Just sucks when people go suddenly or before what appears to be their time. Specially when they are people you were close to.

As for Flip, I'm sure it's tough but it does appear they had a full life together. That is the blessing.

Hands11, echoing Ruzious, sorry for your losses as well. That's a lot of loss of family in a short time. Hang in there.
