Trade for #2?

Rumor is that the Wizards and the Timberwolves are looking to possibly swap picks, while involving players such as Javal McGee... The Wizards would then select Williams to pair him up with John Wall..
Minni gets: McGee + #6
Wizards get: #2 (Williams if available) + other pieces
If the Timberwolves do not add other pieces to send to Washington, there is no deal...
http://www.hoopshype.com Who would play the center position? Would Minni have to include Millicic to play center for the Wizards? And what if Williams is number 1 pick? Does Washington go after Kanter?
5. Darko Millicic
4. Andre Blatche
3. Derrick Williams
2. Jordan Crawford
1. John Wall
or
5. Enes Kanter
4. Andre Blatche
3. Rashard Lewis
2. Jordan Crawford
1. John Wall

Check the draft thread from about the late 30's through the mid 40's for the board's initial thoughts when the story broke last week.
Its also been discussed ad nauseum in the "Javale McGee appreciation" and trade thread recently.
(but to answer your question Blatche has played center in the past to some success, and we'd move him there most likely)

And the other big piece they have that we could use is Wesley Johnson. We're looking at just about all the SFs in this draft, and he would fill that void.
That would be asking too much though, IMO.

The only piece I like from the Timberwolves is Wes Johnson.
I'd do McGee and no. 6 for no. 2 and Wes Johnson. I'd throw in this years 34th or a future, protected consideration to get the deal done.
The 18th pick is off limits.

Beasley, lol, might as well trade Wall while you're at it because he's not going to put up with yet another knucklehead.

DWill for McGee and the 6 pick is an insult. I hope Kahn's ears are still ringing from the phone being slammed in them.
DWill for McGee straight up, maybe. That means we'd have to get someone from Minnie who's worth the 6 pick. Not feeling it.

I think you're nuts. If I was Kahn and I got counter-offered with McGee for #2 straight up, I'd slam the phone so hard on ERNIE it breaks.
Did you know that Tyson Chandler, who at worst was about equal to McGee at the time (way worse offense but way better defense and rebounding), was traded for the overwhelming package of P.J. Brown and J.R. Smith? Sure it was mostly a dump. But the idea that McGee is worth a #2 alone is a joke.
Ideally, I'd trade McGee + 18 + Crawford for #2, and replace those with McGee + 6 if that fails. I want to get Biyombo or JV at #6, or flip that pick for an unprotected 2012.

You see how good a player can be after 3 years. After that point a player can get better, but will likely fit within a certain category. To that point McGee projects to be a player with Tyson Chandler like ability, maybe with less impact defensively and more offensive potential.
That's all good and well for teams that are well rounded. We don't even know if Wall will reach his potential. It's best that we go for the best talent available in this draft now, move McGee and some picks and live and die by how good Williams can be...and I haven't seen any argument that makes me think he can't be a face of franchise type of player.
That doesn't mean Wade/Bron. There have been great players like Pierce, Roy, Aldridge that can lead their team to playoff wins, and when surrounded by a great supporting cast have championship hopes. I'd bet almost anything that Williams is one of those players.
We have to get him.

to OP, I don't think crawford should start at the 2 position. He's too small for it, he'll be a good 6th man though.
Also,i would love to have Beasley. Washington is his home town, and i think that gives him added motivation to get better and perform.
