yo
Bucks fan here

i like the way the Wizards r building their team
i like the youngs they have and are drafting
the $ situation is also very good
even better when Rashard is gone

ive seen lots of people on here say they would move Blatche
and some saying they would move Young
i would not, i like them both

wall, young, lewis, blatche, mcgee
mack, crawford, singelton, vesely, seraphin
PG ?, SG ?, booker, yi, ndiaye

Rashard Lewis expiring at $21,136,630 (right?)
Yi Jianlian expiring at Q-$5,403,366

if Booker and/or Yi can b moved for a late 1st round pick in the 2012 draft
that would b awesome
then the Wizards will have 2 picks in the 1st round

2012 Wizards
wall, young, vesely, blatche, mcgee
mack, crawford, singelton, seraphin
ndiaye
2 2012 draft picks

Timing is also very important
Miami, Orlando, Atlanta, Charlotte, Washington
thats a hard division
Miami is set the next 4 years
Hope Orlando loses Howard or worst case scenario CP3 joins him
Atl will lose Jamal, maybe move Jsmith, and are at max $
Charlotte is on super rebuild and are now 3 years behind the Wizards

so, get 2 picks in the 1st round, the next 2 years
and then start trading the back 5 and future picks for All Stars

stay the course
and keep the rebuild going
and the $ tight

Yi isn't an expiring contract. He's already gone. There's no chance we resign him unless he plays on a one year contract for little more than the vet minimum.

Booker for a late 2012 pick would be a bad move. Booker is solid role player who posted the fifth highest PER of all rookies last year. He'll never be a star, but he's likely to pan out to be a rotation-caliber player and maybe even a borderline starter down the road. I'd rather take my chances with him than with a late first round pick.

Nobody here is trying desperately to move Young. The only question about Young is how much should we pay to retain him. I think the general consensus is that we would match up to an MLE-sized offer (which would hopefully be only 4 years long under the new CBA) but the interest in retaining him drops quickly at salaries higher than that.

Blatche is the only guy on the roster who the Wizards would probably move relatively quickly. I haven't totally given up on him, but I'd probably unload him for a mid round pick and cap relief. As of now, he probably couldn't even be dumped for an expiring contract so the Wizards are likely to keep him for a while and see if he can boost his value.

good news about NOT giving YI that QO
i thought i read he Was given the QO
not only was that too much $
but it would take minutes from Vesely

i like Booker
but, if u keep Blatche and Vesely, thers NO minutes for booker at PF
would u want him and singleton splitting minutes at SF ?
which is also where Vesely gets minutes
Vesely, Blatch, McGee is a huge frontcourt
or draft a SF in the 2012 draft
which could/should be a better SF than booker

i thought Blatche had gained weight from 2009 to 2010
idk if he was told to, so he can play more center
but he looked much slower
id just rotate Mcgee, Seraphin and Ndiaye at Center
Blatch, Vesely at PF
Lewis, Vesely, Singelton at SF
of course injuries and foul trouble (mcgee) changes things

i feel positive, so far, that the Wizards are on the right path

I agree with what you say PANDEMONEUM.

We shouldn't move Blatche. Even though he put up pretty good numbers last season, I'll even say that he had a pretty bad season, even as one of his biggest fans, although he started playing much better at the end of the year. He was coming off a foot injury, and was rusty and out of shape. Because of the extra weight, he was very slow and couldn't jump, and that really effected his game. He says he's training in Miami right now, so if he comes back in shape, I can easily see him putting up All-Star numbers next season.

Most people on this board like Nick Young and want him back next year. Last year, all the people on this board wanted him traded for a 2nd round pick lol (I was not one of them, even though I rarely posted on this board last year), but now, he's one of our most consistent players. We already have a lack of scorers as it it, so losing him would be a travesty. We don't want to overpay him though. I just hope all the fans of other teams still think he's a black hole that plays no defense.

I like Booker, and I'm not sure about trading him. I'm not saying I wouldn't for the right deal though. We have a glut of combo-forwards, and I think someone might have to be pushed out of the rotation, and Book might end up being that player. But I like what he does for this team. He's not a talented player offensively, but he rebounds, makes a good effort defensively, is very athletic, and has a mean streak. Even if we wanted to trade him though, I don't think his trade value is high enough to net us a 2012 1st round pick, looking like the deepest draft we've seen in years.

But I agree with a lot of what you say. We have a bright future. Draft picks, cap space, and a lot of young talent that has tey to reach their full potential. I trust Ted and EG to lead us along the right path.

I hope Blatche does come back in 2012 (because there's probably not going to be a season IMO) slimmer. If that's all the problem was from 2009 to 2010, and he can play like he has the past couple Aprils, he's a decent player.

I also like Booker for the reasons 7-Day mentioned: he rebounds, he's athletic, gives a good effort defensively, and he has a mean streak. However, think staying the course is NOT what the Wizards should have done on draft day. I believe instead of Singleton, the Wizards should have drafted Kenneth Faried. He rebounds WAY BETTER than even Booker. He arguably gives an even better effort defensively and is IMO even more athletic than Booker.

What I think the Wizards should have done is draft Faried and trade Blatche right away. I am comfortable enough with Booker to see him start games at PF and not hurt the Wizards much. I think Faried will prove to be an absolute STUD starter at PF. The Wizards IMO would have become a playoff team just by virtue of having a dominating rebounder at PF.

That would have been the very easy fix. Faried was even more obvious to me than Millsap (who I called correctly years ago) and Blair (who most wanted even earlier than the Wizards passed on him in round 2). I think Faried is going to be a very, very special talent.

I was trying to compare this team to the Wizards that beat the Bulls to advance to the 2nd round. It's actually fairly interesting how it matches up.

Haywood vs McGee
Etan vs Seraphin
Booth vs NDiaye
Kwame vs Blatche
Ruffin vs Booker
Jeffries vs Singleton/Vesely
Jamison vs Lewis
Hughes vs Young
Dixon vs Crawford
Blake vs Mack
Arenas vs Wall

Arenas was infinitely better than any player on our current team.

Jamison that season >>>> Lewis
Hughes > Young.

Then there's also the Eddie vs Flip comparison...

Looking at our roster and thinking about the next draft, if we stay the course with what we have Harrison Barnes would be the ideal addition as a pure shooter to compliment Wall, and be this team's better version of Jarvis Hayes.
