points - 20
assists 9.5
steals 1.7
turnovers- 2.5
i expect to see some 30 and 40 point games from wall this year. his passing we already know is on an elite level. the biggest question is, will he learn to control the ball better to cut down on turnovers?
i truly believe with his talent level and work ethic we will see a drastic improvement from our star player this year.

I think 3.5 turnovers with his style of play and that many assists would be excellent--and probably the best we can hope for.
The rest of those numbers are doable.

His assists went down as this pts went up.
I have no idea what his stats will be. I guess it will depend on what he has around him and what the team needs. That is what a PG does. They run the team, step up were needed and they win.
I just hope his shooting eff. goes up.

At least as important as his raw numbers, will be his efficiency and defense. I hope and expect that both will improve.
It would be great if his production was similar to Chris Paul's second year(I don't expect quite the 3 pt or FT percentage)
.437 FG%
.350 3pFG%
.818 FT%
17.3 PPG
8.9 Assists
1.8 Steals
Baron Davis has had seasons close to the raw numbers in the thread, but they have only helped his fantasy teams.

Still meh shooting efficiency but gets to the line 7.5 times a game.
3.5 turnovers a game and only grouchy people care.

20 ppg is reasonably obtainable if he learns to take it to the hole stronger (not faster). as insanely athletic as he is, he is well capable of the 7.5 FTA/game that illuminaire is calling for. getting those missed layups into and-1 calls can easily get him close to the 20 ppg mark while not missing a beat with his 8-9 apg. if he can improve his efficiency AND turn down TO's? well that'll just be absolutely gravy and we might be looking at 30+ wins and a playoff berth.

I cant predict his stats because we have like 12 guys who all believe they can score and that this will be there breakout year. That will be Flip's toughest challange this year. To tell these kids that it has to be team 1st and that you can be a much better player than last year while actually having lesser stats or points. Wall, NY, JC, Dray, McGee, etc...... cant all average 25ppg but thats what they all are thinking about coming in. They will have to be ok with getting 20 one game and 8-10 the next while someone else is getting the points. If we can do that and keep the ego's in check then we can win

That's because he had to take on the scoring load when so many of our guys went down.

I don't see how Wall could average 10 assists on a team with so few guys who can shoot. I don't think that is realistic.
I expect teams to pack the paint on him again this year and dare him to shoot. That will make it hard for him to score efficiently and set up others. He will have to make jumpers in order to put up big numbers.
i am hoping for
18-19 ppg
8 assists
EFG% on jumpers over 40%

I disagree. I think if he's healthy then he dominates and also shoots a much better percentage then people think because he could get to the rack. I also think we might not have alot of pure jump shooters but if we're healthy then we have alot of guys who are solid scorers or finishers. Most of all, Flip's system sets it up kind easy for the PG to get assist. I think if we're healthy (namely Dray) then he could without a doubt get 10apg

About 21/8 or maybe 18/9 depending on what the team needs are. It's pretty hard to predict, we don't know how much his jump shot has improved, or whether we will have Young back (or similar player). After the first few games we will have a much better idea.
One thing i am expecting is close to 1bpg, plus higher shooting percentage even if his jump shot hasn't improved.

Exactly. And that is what I like about Wall. He is a true PG that gives the team what it needs when it needs it. That is why it is really hard to guess his numbers this year. I just want him efficient. That could be 15/16 pts and 9 assists or it could be 20 pts and 7 assists. Who knows. And it doesnt really matter. As long as the team is playing well and players are developing.

Even if his offensive numbers improve more than what one might expect
from growth and experience, I think Verbal is dead on when he mentions
the importance of him becoming a stronger/better/smarter defensive player.
Quite a few opp PGs lit him up as a rook. Of course the NBA is rife with
amazingly talented PGs but you got to hold them in check to a certain extent.
Perhaps one way he will be able to do that is to get opp PGs in foul trouble
more frequently. I still see the best case scenario for JW to become a hybrid
of AI and The Glove with their respective levels of productions.
If he can do that, he's a HOFer. Wizard fans will or ought to be really
happy with that should it come to pass.
