John Wall had an absolute monster game, but I have to give this one to Nick Young despite the borderline choke at the end.

He kept us in the game in the 3rd quarter when Washington couldn't get a basket, and played what I thought was pretty good defense against a much longer Durant down the stretch.

Nick's hot shooting was what got us back in it and kept us going. Wall had a fantastic game but Nick turning it on the 2nd half was CRUCIAL. NY for POTG.

Its no contest - definitely Wall. But Crawford played his best game this year, and Vesely really solidified himself in the rotation. Even though he looks like a scarecrow blowing in the wind on occasion, he clearly can handle bigger guys,

I think this one is actually a hard call then it seems on the surface but Walls get it.

Wall is playing under more control. He still has a lot of room to improve. The start was terrible. He still trying to drive sometimes after take huge strides so he is out of control. But those early shots that went down opened things up, and those FTs where daggers. 6-17 from the field though.

Nick helped a lot with those three but it was defense that keep them in it. Then Nick chocked on some FTs and he is the best FT shooter in the league. The choking bumps Nick down some.

Ves was huge with the energy D. That really helps because if he didnt play center, they would have had to bring in KS. Ves really stepped up huge on a big stage. Played over his head so he deserves special props for that.

What Crawford did was really important also. And McGee had some huge rebounds late.

Dray. He had his flubs but drained the big 3 and did this and that all game. He played the pretty much the entire 3rd quarter also.

So that makes it hard to rank. I guess

Could tell Wall was going to have a good day when he hit his first few jumpers.

Going 13-14 from the line basically won us the game. Nice to see him with some swagger.

Its a tough one, between Nick and John. Gave it to Johnboy because he did more on the floor than Nick at both ends.

1b. Young (mostly for that run of 3 pointers to get us back in it)
2. Blatche (yes! he did pretty well, some great assists)
3. Flip for trying different lineups.

Honourable mention to The Janchise for being a defensive einstein.

Gold star sticker to Lewis for actually having a go and playing some damn basketball.

I gave it to John because of his clutch play on defense. That, and the fact that he's learning how to play under control.

1. Wall - great all around game
2. Vesely - defensive intensity triggered a key surge
3. Nick - WET jumper when we needed it (but nothing else)

Wall for showing leadership and making winning plays (charge from KD, making his FTs at the end)

Nick is a close second followed by Jan for his outstanding defense on the pick and roll and his hustle on the boards.

Have to give it to Wall for taking charges. There was a taste of what's to come when he develops a jumpshot. Great pass to McGee at the end there.

Wall for 13-14 FTs as well as the rest of a pretty gaudy statline.
He makes FTs like that and we woulda beat NJ in the opener.

Oh man, what a beauty, I watched that one over and over again.

Watching the Bulls play I've always loved the way they had Rose attack the screen coming of the wing and wondered why our offense didn't run plays like that more often.

Seems like they've gone ahead and added that wrinkle a few games ago and Wall is doing an exceptional job taking those screens. Had a beautiful wrong footed layup coming off of one, and then drew a fould against Ibaka that sent him to the line on another.

I almost feel silly not voting for Wall here given all he did that game, but to me Young was simply crucial with his threes when we couldn't buy any FGs...

Honorable mention for McGee snatching a number of important defensive rebounds down the stretch. That's the most important thing you can do on defense, after forcing a miss -- get the damn rebound!

Gotta go with the guy who had the best +/- on the night.

The easier answer is probably Wall or Young, but I'll say McGee/Vesely as co-POGs for their direct and indirect offense rebounding efforts.
