Javale McGee. All-star center, or Hall-of-Fame center?

Guys: just to make this clear on page one, don't say anything negative or off topic here. This thread is strictly for appreciating Javale McGee or bashing Flip Saunders--anything else risks suspension.

If he hits the weight room and gets stronger, develops a reliable low post move, learns to box out, set screens, and play better help side defense, I say he can be an all star.

Sarcasm alert. That has no place in an appreciation thread unless of course it is in the Wall Appreciation thread. Then it's ok.

Ya know who would make McGee a much better player is Anthony Davis. Javale's great at blocking shots of guards and forwards coming down the lane, but his man typically goes right around him for an easy basket. If he had weakside help from Anthony Davis, that problem goes away - just like that. And Davis has been showing he's got a jump shot and super BBIQ on offense - so he helps him at both ends. Vesely can maybe help to a lesser extent on defense, but his offense is so limited that it makes it hard to play Vesely and McGee together. Bottom line - if we get Davis, re-sign Javale to a multi-year contract.

If we get Davis, I'd resign McGee with the intent to trade him down the road once Davis fills out enough to play center. I think McGee and a developed Davis is unnecessarily redundant. Sure, they'd be good together, but not as good as Davis plus a quality wing player received in a McGee trade.

Two straight nice games from McGee. Nice to see him get out of that funk.

McGee's biggest problem on defense is that he too often gets caught out of position because of his tendency to have busy feet. If he would just hold his position and establish a proper base he would far more effective on defense.
He's done a good job playing within himself on offense for the past few games, but his defense still needs tremendous work.
He needs to open his hips more and slide his feet instead of trying to run in an attempt to keep up with his defender. With his long legs he should be able to cover just as much ground that way.

I think it's a huge advantage to have 2 quality bigs - if Javale really develops - especially when they're not going to break the bank. I don't think San Antonio felt that Robinson and Duncan were redundant. Anyway, it'd be a nice problem to have, and it'll take a few years before Davis is center-sized, so we'll cross that bridge when it breaks.

I think I'm with Ruz in that one. As for the Stud Sg, i think we should try to sign Eric Gorndon this yr and if we fail, James Harden next yr. But the thought of getting Davis is a pipe dream IMO. I think a stud rebounder like Robinson will be good next to McGee. I like that sweeping hook. I hope he keeps improving on it this off season. He could literally make a living with that shot. What I like most about that shot for him is that it goes against the "style of substance" label he's received. He seems to be better at avoiding fouls and has been robbed by some goaltending calls this season.

Yeah, that's the way to look at it. I agree completely that we should make every effort to resign McGee (to a reasonable contract) even if we land the #1 overall pick. We can then evaluate things after they've played together for a while. Certainly, during his rookie year, Davis will probably be better off at PF and backup C so there wouldn't be any overlap. In a year or two when Davis fills out, we can make the decision whether we're better off with a "twin towers" lineup, or if we should trade McGee for what would hopefully be an All-Star-caliber wing.

He's been breathing at 75% for the past several years. I wonder.
Symptoms
The most common symptoms of asthma are wheezing, shortness of breath, chest tightness and coughing. However, there are more severe symptoms of asthma that indicate an effect on the brain. Some patients experience severe anxiety because of the shortness of breath.
Others may have a decreased level of alertness, such as severe drowsiness and confusion. The drowsiness and confusion can indicate that the level of oxygen in the brain is lower than normal.Read more: The Effects of Asthma on the Brain | eHow.com

How the hell do people not figure this out in a billion dollar industry? I had the sense to know when two of my players nearly had to be taken by ambo to the hospital during one of our soccer games that their inhalers were of a way too weak prescription to affectively address their asthma that they needed a stronger prescription and helped get the situation addressed immediately. How on earth are NBA teams not on the top of this (granted i could be reading too much into this)? Its just baffling. As someone who suffers from asthma, and has had the wrong (exceedingly weak) medications prescribed to myself, and players of mine, I know what that causes the issue (basically zero help to the condition, and actually a net negative because you end up thinking your safe because you have an inhaler and you're wrong because the inhaler is totally ineffective to address the issue), and in my case I had the issue addressed immediately the first time it occured.
How in the hell did this not happen with the Wizards? Maybe I'm overreacting I'm just baffled. I understand difficult situations, like the '11 draft and what to do considering its terrible and we had a horrible slot, with no one that effectively addressed needs, but with something like this, its freaking easy, if its as adverstised, so why did they freaking let it go on this long (if they did?)? If the FO was really asleep at the switch, like they might have been, I'd sweep them all out right now, just for this, let alone the horrible trades, contracts, and some of the draftees.
Nice to see him finding his game again with the right meds, a month before the deadline with plenty of time to suss out what she would do with him going forward.
