Can the Road Warriors continue to lay waste to their unsuspecting opponents? This is going to be tough, the 2nd of a back to back against a strong team that b-slapped them previously. McGee in particular got worked by Jordan but at least he is playing better now that he can actually breathe.

No Billups which makes it easier. He was 4-4 from 3 last game.

A visit from the Washington Wizards might seem an ideal way for the Los Angeles Clippers to bounce back from a disappointing end to their successful road trip.

The Wizards, though, have gotten off to a surprisingly strong start to their own extended trip and will try to stay unbeaten on that trek Wednesday night.

Los Angeles (17-9) finished 4-2 on its trip but narrowly missed out on a victory Monday against Dallas, where Caron Butler missed a potential go-ahead 3-point attempt with four seconds to go in the 96-92 defeat.

"Our guys battled. We had some opportunities. I'm pleased with the effort but obviously not the result," coach Vinny Del Negro. "We competed well and had our chances, but weren't able to convert against a good team. We've got to get home and get feet under us.

Butler, though, was also responsible for keeping his team in the game with a season-high 23 points and eight rebounds. The forward also played for the Wizards (7-22) for four-plus seasons before being traded to Dallas on Feb. 13, 2010.

His former team is 3-10 on the road, but Washington has earned two of those victories to kick off its five-game trip. After blowing out Detroit in the opener Sunday, Washington shot 60.0 percent during its best scoring performance this season, a 124-109 win over Portland on Tuesday.

Nick Young scored a season-high 35 points and made seven of eight attempts from 3-point range during his team's third win in five games. John Wall was 10 of 14 overall while contributing 29 points and nine assists.

"It shows that we can definitely compete with anybody," said guard Jordan Crawford, who had 21 points.

Young and Wall scored only 14 points apiece and Crawford had 12 during a 107-81 drubbing at home to the Clippers on Feb. 4. Blake Griffin paced Los Angeles with 21 points while playing just three quarters.

When he exited, the Clippers were ahead 87-53 en route to their sixth consecutive win in the series. Los Angeles has won three in a row over Washington at the Staples Center and six of seven, but needed double overtime to claim a 127-119 victory there last season.

Griffin had the first of his two career triple-doubles during that game with 33 points, 17 rebounds and 10 assists. Wall scored a then-career high 32 points in the matchup of 2009 and 2010 No. 1 draft picks, respectively.

Griffin has averaged 26.7 points, 11.0 rebounds and 6.7 assists during his three lifetime games against Washington, but the Clippers' other star, point guard Chris Paul, has struggled in the past four matchups, averaging 9.5 points.

He had two points on 1-of-8 shooting during the victory in Washington earlier this month. His counterpart for the Wizards, Wall, has averaged 23.7 points in three games against the Clippers -- his best against any opponent.

I think it might be a bit closer than last time, but the Clippers get star treatment from refs and win by double figures through foul shots.

I'm starting to think that our tradition of having the thread starter of a winning game start the next thread is misguided. How many times did we win two games in a row last season? Twice, maybe? We haven't done it at all this year. The one time we won two in a row was when the second thread was started by a different poster.

Tontoz, you just guaranteed a loss!

B2b for us, bad match-ups with Blake , hottest shooting night of the year for us last night so it doesn't look good. However, the Clips lost to the Cavs. If we can match them with energy, we might be able to hang. On-paper, it looks like a long night tonight.

Very happy to have won two road games. 2 out of three ain't bad, I'll take it.

I just started the thread that led to them scoring 120 points on the road. When was the last time the team did that? You should be bowing down my mojo.

McGee always seems to struggle against powerful and athletic centers. He can represent himself well against any other center, but powerful + athletic is kryponite. Let's see if he can reverse that trend against Jordan tonight.

he also struggles against stiff white centers. pretty much the only guys he doesn't struggle against are guys that aren't true centers.

I am pretty confident DeAndre Jordan will not have the dominating performance he had at Verizon, and that McGee will play with the energy he has the past few games.

The Clippers probably will be a bit overconfident. LAC was up by 34 through three quarters at Verizon. Griffin came close to a triple double. The Clips killed it from three-point territory. Nick shot 5-16. It was an ugly loss that happened to Wittman. I think that's the game where I apologized to Flip and said these guys suck and it wasn't his fault.

Since then the Wizards are 3-2. I think if the Wizards play as well as they have the past two games, the Clips without Billups are beatable. The Wizards will be confident, angry, and full of energy.

I hope you're right CCJ. Jordan is not a more talented than Javale, but he plays a more sound game rooted in...how do you say...reality? He doesn't try anything he's incapable of, or attempts to do something that makes it to Sportcenter. He doesn't have WTFs like Javale...

When Javale limits his WTF's to one a game, and he plays spots rather than react and recover, then he'll be an all-star.

Well, this is a new era for McGee, post asthma medication adjustment. I'm curious to see how he does.

Last time the wiz played the clips, Wall held CP3 to 1-9 shooting. Should be a good test for wall.

a co-worker just told me that the last 2 road Ws were the first
time in franchise history of back to back 15+ point margin of victory
road wins.

Just hoping for a close game. Our whole lineup struggled
against their counterparts. CP3 has owned Wall to date.
Let's see them compete tonight.

+1

The Vegas line (not that I am a betting man, cuz I'm not) is Clippers by 15.

If ever I were a gambler, I would take the Wizards getting that many points the way they are playing. Seems to me Nick has found his shot and won't go 5-16 again against LAC. If Wall keeps his play up seems to me the Wizards should at least make this game interesting.

I said earlier I thought Clips were beatable. The point spread is surprising.

So what is the chance Nick can play with some sense of self control and not over dribble and chuck up shots after being so hot last night.

I was very impressed with him last night. There was a period there after he had already established that he was hot and he still passed the ball around and didnt force any shoot for an extended period of time. That showed some discipline and I really appreciated it.

Say it will me Nick. Catch and Shoot. Catch and Shoot.

or pass.
