Well we already had a soccer thread this morning so why not have a local unsolved mysteries thread as well?
Feel free to leave your conspiracy theories as to what may or may not have happened.

I was literally scared to go trick-or-treat on Halloween after hearing about the bunny man, monte.
I remember hearing about him back in the day. Only thing is, I remember being told if you open the wrong door he will chop you up with his axe.

I always heard it was a drunk guy in a bunny suit, which is both scary and hilarious when you're a little kid

Whoever told you was nicer/less paranoid than who told me. I don't recall how I found out about it, but I do remember running around scared one Halloween.
What a kid will do for some candy!

Much more creepy than the Bunny Man is Tommy Burkett murder(?) I knew his mother, Beth George, and neither she or his father were a particularly loud and public advocate, but they were vigilant in their search for answers. I initially thought they were just grieving crackpots, but the more I heard and read, the more it seemed like the parents were asking legitimate questions, and the Fairfax County Police, Marymount University, and others were giving very weak answers that made them look like they were covering something up.
The parents are dead now, so no one will probably ever fight it to the end, but I don't buy the official version at all. At the very least, there was a cover up of official apathy and/or incompetence.

I never knew Tommy personally but from what I have heard he was high for his entire freshman, sophomore, junior and senior years of high school.

Yeah, police, journalists and others (in this and other cases) frequently offer drug use as if might answer questions by itself. If it did, practically everyone that went to my high school would have committed suicide. I had two conversations with Beth George about her son. I don't recall her spending energy trying to paint him as a trouble-free straight-edge angel. She seemed more focused on questions that as far as I can see remain largely unanswered.
