Option C: Anthony Davis + Nene, with booker and seraphin backing up.

That would be almost a perfect frontcourt.

I wonder if we can move Booker to Small foward? Then start Nene at power foward and Seraphin at center. Its not like we have a good shooter at the sf postion anyway.

I want to see Nene - Seraphin first.

Let us have size for once and man the middle with our bigs.

I'd like to take a look at:

C: Nene
PF: Seraphin

However, Booker has played well and earned his place imo. I wouldnt want to take that away from him:

C: Nene
PF: Booker

With Seraphin backing up both guys off the bench.

With Blatche playing heavy minutes at towelboy/cheerleader.

Nene and Booker should start.

Agreed...plus Booker has earned the right to be a starter.

This.

I love that we start out bruising and then get even bigger off the bench. This team will have thuggish defense when things are clicking. We'll have some spacing issues on offense either way until we get reliable outside shooting at the 2 &3, or until either Book or Seraphin expands their midrange game. But either way it's gonna hurt running into that wall of beef at the other end.

Still need better rebounding though.

I'm game. Trevor is a better basketball player than Chris Singleton and Jan Vesely. He would definitely be out of position, but Maxiel, Millsap, and Mbah a Moute all play some SF. IIRC Ilyasova has played some SF.

Numerous arguments against Booker at SF include EG spent two draft picks on perimeter bigs Vesely and Singleton, this would negate those moves. Booker might not have the lateral quicks to cover SF, but i think he does. Booker doesn't handle like a SF. Booker seems to have as good or better touch, even from deep than either Jan or Chris Singleton.

truwizfan4evr, I wouldn't mind seeing those three on the court together with Wall and Mack/Mason/Eubiles.

Worth a try for a few minutes a game at least. We have no offense from the SF spot regardless, so the only risk is defending perimeter 3s. The rebounding improvement would improve our transition game and might make up for it.

Would be nice to get another draft pick to get a guy like Henson or someone of that nature, that way we can throw out big after big out there.

But I agree with Doc, Nene and Booker as starters with Seraphin being the primary back up.

It'll work against burly SF's like Carmelo Anthony, but generally, I think we're better off with Booker at PF.

Basically, we're talking about whether we're better off with Seraphin or Singleton alongside a lineup containing Booker and Nene. I say for the most part, we're better off with Singleton. He's a better ball handler, a quicker defender with more range, and a better shooter. It's not even much of stretch to say that Singleton rebounds about as well as Seraphin. Seraphin gets more boards because he's always in the paint on D, but I'd bet that if Singleton played PF, he'd rebound about as well as Seraphin.

Whichever two guys start, we're going to see a lot of all three combinations. Nene's versatility means that any two of them can play together. I'm not convinced that Booker/Nene is the best combo in the long run. I don't think they'd rebound as well as Nene/Seraphin and I think Nene can do more offensive damage against PF's.

Unless we win the lotto, this would seem to mean we're not drafting a big, right? Why draft Robinson when he plays Nene's best position -- unless you're sure beyond sure that the guy will be a star (I'm not).

I think we target Beal/MKG or a trade a really good perimeter player. Maybe Barnes if we're picking low enough, but I'd prefer other options.

With this roster i wouldn't have a problem playing Booker at the 3.

Singleton is a total self-check on offense. He is averaging only 7.2 pts per 36 minutes with a TS of 45%. That is horrible. He is ranked 25th among 3s in rebounding and his defense has been off and on. He really doesn't deserve to be on the court right now.

Friends: This is your quarterly reminder that Trevor Booker cannot play small forward. Thank you.
