Hey Celtics fan here.. I seen the comments by DWill & decided to drop by. But how have you guys liked Jan Vesely this year? His numbers are underwhelming & I expected a lot from him.

After the draft I was hyping him up & he along with Knight are my favorite rookies.

Why hasn't he played a lot? & Why hasn't he played well? & What position is he going foward?

You guys will be alright. Wall, MGK, Nene, the young bigs & vesely. Get a good 2 guard & you'll be moving up quick.

Goodluck fellas.

Vesley is not, and probably never will be, a guy who puts up big numbers. At best he's probably a 10 - 10 guy with good passing, high efficiency, and great defense. That alone, however, would make him a very valuable contributor to a good team.

He started off poorly for 3 reasons:

1) He's not strong enough. This is still a problem.

2) Normal rookie jitters. He actually was more composed than most rookies, although he clearly had no confidence in his shot.

3) Unstructured selfish team play. Ves is the kind of guy who can fit well in a team that moves the ball and makes cuts on offense. The Wizards were awful at this earlier in the year. As the team has settled down under the new coach and gotten more used to each other, his natural game has become more effective.

Moving forward the biggest thing for Ves is to become strong enough to guard PFs. This season has shown he cannot play SF, so he has to make that adjustment.

He has played a lot for a rookie, he is playing in the 20's and 30's the last 15 games. Not-bad for an energy player.

Right now we are converting him from SF/PF to strictly PF because his shooting is so horrific. If it ain't a dunk, the basketball is outta his hands in a split-second
