The Pacers won't get past the 2nd round of the playoffs.

Perhaps, they did better than expected against the Bulls even-though they got swept. I think they might fly under the radar this-year.

Do you mean the NHL Eastern Conference?

The NBA is officially dead to me until lottery night....

Unless the Heat is playing and I'll be living and dying with whatever stiffs are playing those pampered bums from South Beach.

I'm picking the Grizzlies to win it all. Now they could get knocked off in the first round if Chris Paul goes crazy on them, but I think their length will be an advantage against the Spurs and Thunder if they can out-tough LAC.

And the Heat have a good chance of still choking in the Finals.

Am I the only one who thinks the Heat might-not even make-it out of the East?

I could actually see all that happening. I could see the Heat losing pre-finals too. Bulls-Grizzlies? Arenas vs. Mike James?

No you are not. They might not even get past round one and the Knicks.

Nope.

Until they show something meaningful in the playoffs, that banged up team is no front runner in my book.

Bulls are so quiet I have a hard time picking them. They're good, of course, but there are a lot of ?s with Rose, and you need THAT GUY come playoff time.

I'm probably wrong to doubt the Bulls, but if they go on a run, I'll be the first to admit it.

I have the Celtics making the Conference Finals and giving the Heat a run for their money.

I'm really not interested in the East first round. The only series I think goes past five games is Boston-Atlanta, and god help me if I have to watch that many Hawks games in a row. The second and third rounds should be nice though. I think the Heat will come out by a nose over the Bulls.

The West looks a lot more fun for the opening round. I think both LA series will be good, though like with the East, I'm not calling any upsets. And I know that Memphis is everyone's playoff darkhorse, but I think the Spurs take care of them this time around, and go all the way to the finals. And actually, they're my pick to win it all.

EDIT: I'll stick my actual predictions here, for the fun of it:

Chicago over Philadelphia (4-0)
Miami over New York (4-1)
Indiana over Orlando (4-0)
Boston over Atlanta (4-2)
-
Chicago over Boston (4-3)
Miami over Indiana (4-2)
-
Miami over Chicago (4-3)

San Antonio over Utah (4-1)
Oklahoma City over Dallas (4-1)
LA Lakers over Denver (4-3)
Memphis over LA Clippers (4-2)
-
San Antonio over Memphis (4-2)
Oklahoma City over LA Lakers (4-2)
-
San Antonio over Oklahoma City (4-2)

San Antonio over Miami (4-2)

Me, too. (Well, I have Boston getting to the Eastern Finals).

Boston can make it to the Finals and even win it all if they get strong playoff contributions out of two young players. Bradley and Stiemsma seem to be really playing good basketball. Stiemsma can defend exceptionally well. He's a terrific shot blocker. Bradley can also move his feet and defend better than Ray Allen. I like Boston a lot if Rondo is 100%. He's had some monster triple doubles this season and IMO is underrated.

Wow.. Rose goes down with a left knee in a game that was out of hand.

That could change everything.

Bron blindsided by Chandler, could have been ejected there.

The Knicks are going to get swept.

I really think Gilbert will hit some big shots when he gets in to spell Conley. Gilbert also is committed to playing defense and if you play for Hollins, you must defend.

Memphis is the team no one wants to play in the postseason. They have many wing defenders, they have depth in the frontcourt, and they have good guard play. Rudy Gay or Randolph must establish being a closer and they can go far. I believe they will win the West.

D Rose has a torn ACL. Out for the playoffs and definitely part of next season.

With that said, I still stand by my bracket in page 1 of this thread. The Bulls will beat the Sixers and will win in round 2 due to their front court depth, rebounding, and defense. There is no way they win the East at this point. Everything points to Miami winning the East with pure ease.

At the Half: Roy Hibbert is credited with 8 points, 9 rebounds, and 6 blocks.
