Beal already knows his teammates very well...
http://www.washingtonpost.com/sports/wi ... story.html

Jordan Crawford started at shooting guard in the season’s second half, but Beal said he expected the three players to form a formidable back court in Washington. “I think it’ll be terrific. J-Wall and Crawford are both great players. He can create for himself and Crawford can put the ball in the rim,” said Beal, adding that he doesn’t feel any pressure to produce right away. “Not so much, because I’m not going to come in and force the issue. I’m going to try to play my role and have an impact as much as I can. . . . I think I am ready, physically and mentally. I know I have to get a lot stronger. It’s going to be some things that I’m going to have to go through. I’m still going to pick myself up and keep playing hard.”

Beal definitely makes the day brighter. Now we can speculate how long it will be before he gets comfortable with the NBA game. I say that NLT December he's the starting SG. I hope its earlier, but certainly NLT December.

I am sure this was posted in the draft thread somewhere but i think it deserves a repost here.

Bradley Beal has moved up the draft boards of general managers and scouts since the end of the season.

Shortly after Kentucky won the national championship, Michael Kidd-Gilchrist was commonly considered the No. 2 overall prospect behind Anthony Davis.

Beal is now ranking No. 2 on approximately 70 percent of the draft boards of GMs and scouts surveyed by ESPN's Chad Ford.

My guess is he won't be that much better than Crawford next season.

I'm trying my best to stay realistic but this is an absolutely ridiculous statement. Beal could check in, sit down, make a ham sandwich and still have better impact than Crawford had.

Its a totally ridiculous statement. Almost as ridiculous as saying we should have picked Drummond with the #3 pick.

He'll be a good deal better than Crawford next yr, but by default. Crawford sucks, so that's not saying much.

I just don't see why so many people are getting hyped up over this kid. He'll be a solid player, but I don't see any "star" potential. We have no shot winning a championship anytime soon.

At least the Thunder and Spurs wanted him. That's a good sign. There must be something in him that I'm not seeing that so many team w/ a good track record saw in him.

The Spurs and Thunder wanted him because he has a workman-type attitude, with a pure j, and he rebounds which means he's tough as nails. He's definitely more Joe Dumars than Ray Allen, and I think those high-level teams see that in him. Cleveland wanted him badly too.

Watch through to the end and he talks about Beal and the Wizard. He really gets pumped.

And he makes a call out to CCJ

Wow this may be one of the first times I've heard positive Wizards talk from SAS.

Nah, he's more Mitch Richmond than either Allen or Dumars.

right on FIsh and Sev.

I may have hopped on the BB bandwagon a little behind either of
you but at least from the moment we did not land AD, this is the
kid I wanted us to get. Now we just have to live with getting what
we really and truly thought we wanted. Hopefully that will be an
easy thing.

edit - just watched the vid crackhed posted - nice. The thing I
like was how pure his shot is. A lot of these shots don't even hit
rim, nothing but the bottom of the net. Yeah I know it's a video
and he's not being guarded. Still me likey.

This is exactly what I was thinking. He's very much Mitch Richmond. Hopefully Sacto and Run TMC Richmond as opposed to DC Richmond.

Wow, another reason to love Beal.

Didn't realize until I saw his post-draft interview that he was pre-med and wanted to pursue medical school if the NBA wasn't there. Called going pro a hard decision because he loves school.

Such a breath of fresh air...

You gotta simply love the fact that this is where he really preferred being.
