Miller, lock this later.

But I start this thread only to make a public observation. Biggest storm front to blow thru the region in years. I have lots of tree debris (serious branches from mature oak trees). Lots of damage in the area.

And did our resident weatherman warn us about anything?

noooooooo.

Ji....SMH.

That same storm smashed us in Columbus, OH at about 5:00 this afternoon. It blew all my deck furniture halfway across the yard and my trash can was found about a block away.

I knew about it hours ago. It's been rocking and rolling in the midwest this afternoon and booked its way over to the mid-Atlantic.

Be careful guys, storms aren't anything to play with, my house was hit by a tornado on April 27th, 2011.

You live around Tuscaloosa? That storm that hit the city and campus was very devastating. Heard all about it even here.

I'm back in KY for fun family stuff, and we were hit yesterday too. Water is out for most of the area, power's down at the water plant. Otherwise, lots of mess but no serious damage.

Anyone know why DC seems to suffer so badly in high winds? Large trees seem to fall more often there than anywhere else I've been. It's like a trailer park in a tornado.

All this time I thought you lived a short hop from Verizon Center

My father-in-law's yard furniture obliterated by a tree

Heard the at&t @ congressional started at 1 but no crowds allowed. power just came back 30-40 minutes ago in gaithersburg. intermittent stoplights. i was in the city last night and everything seemed pretty ok in the district (tenleytown notwithstanding).

sidenote: @fugop. i'm reading "an economist gets lunch" and in it says that half of kentucky's counties are dry which just boggles the mind that the home of bourbon is half dry.

I live in a Northeast suburb of Birmingham, in St. Clair County, I was hit by the first tornado of the day at 6:09am I am lucky to be alive, sirens didn't even go off, it was still kind of dark and I was upstairs in my room getting ready to do a workout at the gym with what was at the time my agent and a scout from Italy, BUt the big tornado did come over my property again that afternoon and landed as an even bigger tornado about 11 miles to the North of me. (Being in a house during a tornado sounds like machine guns and planes around you depending on the strength). By the way, I suffered TWO Shaun Livingston injuries to both my knees (one injury each knee) and never recovered, so obviously I never even passed the physical for Europe, but I'm going to school to be a music producer this year.

By the way, it's gonna be really hard to drive in on your team with Ariza, Okafor, and Nene protecting the basket. Plus the draft, Beal should be a James Harden real soon, and with the current roster Wall should easily average 11 assist.

Storm Friday night split in half a big maple in my front yard. Luckily, the broken off part fell across the street and not onto the house.

Still no power in Tenleytown.

Assuming that doesn't change, tonight will be the FishFamily's 4th different place in four nights. We've got the NBA lockout travel schedule going. Kids (4 and 1) holding up remarkably well under the circumstances, but it was a pretty challenging weekend. Hope all are safe and cool.
