The Rockets announced that rookie forward Royce White is not with the club in McAllen for training camp because of "personal matters."
White also did not attend the club's media day on Monday for the same reasons.

Greg Monroe is 6'11 250lbs, Anthony Davis is 6'11- 225lbs. He is obviously skinnier than Monroe, who is not skinny at all for his position

My point was about Davis, not Monroe. Lillard will be able to be more effective in his position than Davis will in his initially. We shall see.

I'll be watching Royce White throughout the season. Looked like a very intriguing prospect during the summer league... Although I'm just reading now about his anxiety problem.

I'll be very surprised if Davis doesn't win ROY in a landslide.
After him, Andrew Nicholson is in a situation where he should get a lot of opportunity, and he can score - so he has a chance to be 2nd while playing on a very bad team. And Jared Sullinger could make significant contributions to a good Celtics team.

Barnes has been impressive so far in camp.
"It's Harrison Barnes' job to lose," said a source who has seen every minute of the Warriors' first practices.
The Warriors are looking for strong defense at the small forward position considering the strength of their offense elsewhere in the starting lineup.

On the day before Draft Day, David Thorpe changed his opinion and decided that he thought Harrison Barnes would be the best wing in this draft class - ahead of Beal and Gilchrist. We will see if he was right.

Royce White had to beat back his anxiety disorder to step up and ask the Rockets to accommodate him by letting him take buses when he can.

I think Cleveland will regret not taking Barnes with the 4th pick. I like the young talent Golden St has on the perimeter with Curry, Thompson and Barnes.

I thought this was an interesting quote from Scott Machado
“It was quite funny, because the San Antonio Spurs wanted me at 59, and I ended up refusing. I told Aylton (Tesch, his agent) that I would rather try my luck in Summer League, because he knew the Spurs were going to send me away from the United States, something I did not want to do. It was a quick decision, even at the time, and it paid off. Soon after the Houston Rockets called me to play.”
Classy move by the Spurs to agree to that request. I did think Machado was just going to fall into their lap when he was still there at 59/was surprised when they passed. On that note I'm becoming more and more convinced that the Spurs are factoring in feel for the game/spatial awareness into their drafting and personnel decisions, which Machado and Denmon both excelled at. Among their draft picks Manu, Parker, Kawhi, Splitter, Blair, Scola all basically have elite feel for the game, in addition to Duncan of course though they didn't need to know that to draft him.

SULLINGER IMPRESSES:Playing the most minutes of any rookie (26), Sullinger solidified his presence in the paint early and maintained it over the course of the whole game. Showing the same knack for the ball that he displayed during summer league, Sullinger repeatedly crashed the glass, and carved out position in the lane to take advantage of some nice feeds from his teammates. Perhaps most importantly, Sullinger never looked rattled, displaying an ease and a comfort that helped him contribute 8 points and 5 rebounds in the first half, and come back with 8 more points and 3 more rebounds over the final 24 minutes.

The Cats blow us out and they in-turn get blown-out by NOH. Davis abused someone on the Cats, he went for 22 points 8 rebounds.

I heard it was an ugly start but they got it down to 6 late in the forth, then lost by 12. Not sure if that is a blow out. Specially considering the didn't have Wall, Nene, Okafor, Booker, or Pargo
That's their starting #1 draft pick PG coming into his 3rd year, their starting PF/C, maybe the other starting PF/C, Pargo and Booker
I wouldn't read much into the Charlotte game except Beal and Webster played well, Mack got 7 assist in 23 minutes and Singleton had 9 rebounds 9 pts in 15 minutes.
Okafor and Pargo practiced today and should play next game. Booker should be available soon enough. No reason to rush him along in preseason. That leaves the last two big pieces. We know Wall won't be ready to start the season. We just have to wait to see what we hear about Nene now. That is the last big remaining health question for the start of the season.
