The " Earl Mother f'in Barron" Thread

Post#1 » by hands11 » Fri Nov 2, 2012 1:18 am

I read this in another thread posted by nuposse04 and decided the Barron of DC deserved his own thread.

The man made the team against all odds and he down right maned up in the SA game against Duncan and then again last game.

The man deserves some props. Love an underdog story. He just seems to have bounded around.

Scored a double double in 7 games for the Nicks some years back.

Man has himself a ring from his days in Miami.

Showing some sweet mid range.

And at 1:30 he should that ball on the floor reverse layup he did last game in Cleveland.

Sad that the best news from our opening game is that our 11th and 12th man on the roster (neither of whom will probably be active when/if Wall and Nene get healthy) had good games. Sigh.

I mean...he is what he is...A 5th/6th big...but he's getting minutes and he produces. He definitely isn't going bear the fruits of fortune for us, but good for him making the most of his minutes. What was the rebounding disparity when he was in the game against CLE?

Barron may have a chance of being the new Charles Jones. Earl hasn't exhibited CJ's offensive efficiency or shot blocking ability, however. http://bkref.com/tiny/IgHhz

Hey cut Barron some slack, he may suck 70% of the season, but he pretty much was the key component to that run the other night. The second he got on the floor (albeit it was a combination of many factors) we went on that 16-0 run.

I don't think anyone is mad at Barron...I'm happy he played the way he did (and I don't expect many more of those performances out him). But the players who were ahead of him need accountability when you let side show bob go ape **** on you. Okafor and Booker ought to be embarrassed.

The key component of that run was the Cleveland lineup.

As I tweeted earlier today, Charles Jones - shooting - blocks + rebounds + usage = Earl Barron

Good call Niv

Maybe not exactly in playing style but there is some Charles Jones quality about him and his place on the team.

What I find interesting is this. I expected him to be able to bang some and even rebound some. What I have been surprised about with him is that he looks to actually have a mid range game. I saw him shoot from outside in a couple preseason games and was like :o What he doing... oh it went in.. interesting. And then that baseline move.

And that video I posted he was hitting from outside from all over the place.

As a long shot to make the team and a player who so far has played beyond his projected ability, I can only say I am interested in learning more and pulling for him to do so.

Odds are that he isn't likely to show a lot very often but I love a good underdog story. And until we get both Nene and Kevin back, they need all the help they can get.

That's right.

Earl Mother F'in Big Balls Barron

vs ATL

Ignored all year.

Gets some PT

14 rebounds 4 blocks in 26 minutes. 0-8 all game but down the stretch in crunch time 2-2 when it counted. One mid range in crunch time to hit his first shot of the night. That was a BIG BALLS SHOT.

A legit experience 7-0 but instead we start " I show up every 6 games Okafor" and 6-8 Singleton at PF.

Start Barron. He earned it and we need he height and hustle in the post.

Was that a season high in rebounds for a player on the Wiz this year ? Hmm, looks like Trevor A had 15 in 39 minutes against ATL. Okafor had 14 in 32 minutes once.
