Reinjury in the 1q or 2q?

Basketball
Ric Bucher

Look for Nene to make season debut on Wednesday
Nene went through a full two-hour workout today and while it remains to be seen how he responds tomorrow, there's a good chance he could go vs. the Hawks. Happy Thanksgiving to the Wizards, indeed.

Nene's return will be short-lived, I just hope that he plays enough to get us over the losing hump. I also don't want to see the Nene that played under pain during the Olympics, that won't help us.

What on earth would you be basing that on?

I agree, seems rushed. Not excited for this news...

Last week there was a report saying he was weeks away from returning.

IDK

iirc, he's been resting since late Aug, hopefully that will be long enough.
The problem is there probably isn't a really good way to know without trying.
And yeah, we're wizards fans.

If this means Okafor's minutes get squeezed that's a positive. Otherwise I'd sit him all season to make sure it's fully heeled (pun intended). Season's over and this reeks of despiration and pushing the issue to save some jobs...

If the goal is to win, sitting Okafor doesn't help. He's been okay -- the frontcourt problems have really been Vesely and Seraphin.

Nene should go into the starting lineup with Okafor, Vesely should go in the DNP-CD bin, Booker should be the first PF off the bench, and Seraphin should be the backup center.

If they're actually trying to win a game.

Rushing him back. He'll tear the tendon in his foot guaranteed.

BTW Ric Bucher isn't too reliable

What possible leverage could the Wizards use to "rush" Nene back? A sex tape? A kidnapping? He decided to play during the summer and recover on "company time," and he gave no indication in that recent article that he'd be willing to play through pain. He's got his eye on another (likely final) payday after this contract expires, and I don't see him jeopardizing his long term future to rush back to save an 0-9 team that isn't going to make the playoffs.

Bahh

Ves isn't the problem. Ves had a great first quarter last game and he has played well in other games. Ves should continue to start. The kid was first man down the court. Game before he school Favors.

Kevin is the one you should be busting on. Kevin is 275 and plays like he is 175.

Kevin in not a center. He is a back up scoring PF afraid mix it up. He is a shorter version of McGee.

There is still hope for Kevin longer term but right now, you can't count on him for anything. Zero rebounds in 6 quarters. Please.

Your hate is misguided.

Pretty much it.

Actually, I don't even believe he will play next game. But probably the game after that. He should be suited up though. I think that are just trying to gain any mental edge they can.

The good news is that he is starting to practice.
