1) Arenas was 2 years younger, shot 40 points higher from 3, drew more fouls, and was injured. Coincidentally, the Wizards were a 25 win team that season.

2) Jamal Crawford has started exactly 0 games for the clippers this season, draws more fouls, and shoots 20 points higher from 3.

3) J.R. Smith has started exactly 0 games for the Knicks this season, and plays much better defense.

So I think that meshes in nicely with what other people are trying to say. Crawford has improved and would be a great 3rd guard but he's not starter material. He's improved up to what Arenas regressed to. Why is this such a bitter pill to swallow?

He hasn't stopped getting better yet.

Huge leap in his 3 ball. from .289 to .352

TS% .522

If he was playing more PG, he would get more FTA and that would look even better.

Not bad for a guy who was playing injured all year.

Not sure what makes you think that. Indeed, the numbers this year indicate that he gets fewer FTA's at PG:

Same sample size.

Here are his first and last games starting at PG this year.

http://espn.go.com/nba/boxscore?id=400278027
8 FTA

http://espn.go.com/nba/boxscore?id=400278110
12 FTA

In between, he had games of

HOU 2, LAL 0, MIA 0, ATL 2, ORL 2, DET 0

The 12 and 8 attempts were his two highs for the year.

It was only over 8 games so not that large of a sample size at starting PG this year.

Why did I think he would get more attempts as a PG?. It was just an off the cuff remark based on him picking when to drive more often and getting some calls if he was truly playing PG.

He had his season high attempts while starting there. Zero attempts against LAL and Miami. Not surprised. Specially with how little respect the team was getting and more specifically how little refs give JC the call.

But it doesn't really matter. He isn't going to be starting nor even backing up at PG that much as long as Wall and Price are healthy. I would rather that be the case. He will get some spot duty here and there but nothing I would consider, playing PG for the team.

WTH happened...one day is getting compared to Gilbert Arenas, and now he's getting 0 minutes behind a d-leaguer.

From hero to zero...in a matter of weeks?

Good. He one us one game. Now, how many has he lost playing poor defense and trying to take over in the 4th?

Team first.

Crawford is having a new program downloaded into his brain. I was find with them sitting him last game since they are establishing something new.

BIG BALLS WILL RISE AGAIN

That is If they don't trade him. Well, even then he will, just some place else.

Crawford has talent. He will adjust.

If Crawford makes the leap to become the next Gil, would he beat out Ben Wallace as #1 on the "former Wizards that went on to blow the F up on another team" list?
