Go Get Skiles

I use to love Skiles back in the day with the Bulls. I wanted to steal him away then. I also loved the way he had the Bucks play with there talent for the most part. When it was clear we couldnt get him, I then want Thibbs. I like Skiles & Tibbs defensive approach and intensity while I also like the way Skiles still lets his PG's play. I think he is perfect for Wall and our Frontcourt.

I said last year not to bring Witt back. Now Im saying it again. Either lose him right now for Skiles with Wall coming back or get him at the end of the year. The other guy who I wanted us to get was Adleman when he was a FA. I wouldve taken all 3 of those coaches. Instead we end up with Flip & Witt. Get Skiles

Just saw that tidbit in the news feed and thought "hell yeah, i'd love Skiles coaching this team."

Is Skiles leaving coaching all together, or just leaving the Bucks though?

Pretty sure it's just the Bucks.

^ Damn. He wont want to come here then.

Well, im kind of happy with Randy anyway. He seems to have finally got the rotations right, and he has connected with the players, I think.

If fairness, Skiles hates everyone. Doesn't exactly strike me as a 'players coach'.

Don't think he was happy since the Bogut trade.

He can definitely coach defense though.

Skiles can get a team to overperform for a time with good defense until they players start to hate him and turn on him.

Skiles is kind of like Larry Brown. He really knows the game and he gets his players to do the little things so that they can win ugly even if the shots aren't fallling. But his style grates on his players and they can't put up with him year after year. Eventually, the players tune him out.

Skiles is the perfect kind of coach for a young, losing team. He'll teach them discipline. They'll learn how to play the right way and sooner or later, they'll start to win some. Then you then replace Skiles with a "player's coach" who is better at juggling egos and making tactical adjustments.

Skiles would have been perfect for us last year when it was time to replace Flip Saunders and commit to the rebuild. In a way, I think Randy Wittman is kind of a poor man's Scott Skiles, only not as good. He has that same style where he's more of a disciplinarian than he is a tactician.

I don't have much of a problem with Wittman and I'm not calling for him to be fired. But if Ted decides to clean house from top to bottom, I'd be thrilled if the Wizards acquired Skiles to be the new head coach. Skiles wins wherever he goes.

well 9 times out of 10, when you are talking about a coach like Skiles, you would think he is a Larry Brown type who would put the clamps on his young swagged out PG but unlike Brown, Skiles has actually let his play; maybe even to a fault as some would say. I think he wouldnt hinder Wall at all and would actually work well with him & Beal. Might also get Jack-Chuck to cut it out

Skiles is apparently WAY better at teaching defense than he was at playing defense.
He was about as good at staying in front of people as The Great Leader of Men, AJ.

No interest. I think Witt is like a poor man's Skiles, but without the negative
grating personality. The biggest reason Wittman is here is because his players
lobbied hard for him.

The real Larry Brown, I'd take him in another year or 2 assuming we've made any
progress by then.
