http://www.hoopsworld.com/2013-nba-free-agentsWould love if the Wizards were somehow able to bring in Paul Milsap. He made 8mil last season, have no idea what type of dollar amount he'll demand but I think he'd be a nice fit both offensively and defensively for the Wizards.

It's not possible. All we have is the MLE and Millsap will cost more.

Is the bi-annual exception available? (Not for Millsap, obviously.)

Even with a trade of Trevor Ariza?

Is it just the MLE or do we have the Mini MLE or BAE??? David West stretch 4 though?

Yes, we have the BAE as well. But I didn't consider that to be relevant since we're talking about adding Millsap. Neither the MLE nor the BAE would be enough for West either.
We're going to use the MLE on Webster. We will use the BAE on a backup PG unless we can find one for the vet minimum.

And that's why if we use the MLE on Martell and Okariza opt-in for next season we might as well resign AJ and draft a stretch 4 in the draft or wing unless EG can work up a smart trade, wait its EG so you never know what could happen
EDIT: Sweeping through that list if we could bring Maynor or Jarrett Jack home to the DMV id be a very happy camper

Anyone like Dunleavy as a FA target? Jamison?

^^^ Would be a good pickup to provide scoring off the bench, hes made 3.75m so we could steal him for the Mini MLE if we have it.

Byron Mullens is a RFA, do you think CHA will give Mullens the QO??? Would you go after him?

Jamison is declining rapidly. His defense is atrocious at this point. I'd take him on a one-year deal for the BAE, but that's as much as I would give him. He could probably do better elsewhere.
Dunleavy seems redundant here, assuming we resign Webster. If Webster walks, then I'd consider Dunleavy as a temporary stopgap, assuming we were unsuccessful in going after a younger player like Budinger. Again, I wouldn't sign him for more than 1 year.

No. Mullens stinks.

One thing about the list is looking at the SFs available, it looks like an Ariza opt-out isn't too far fetched. Really given what is out there he looks like a full MLE option at SF. If the team is smart they might get a team option on the last year.

I figure he's worth at least the full MLE next year too. But if he sticks with his existing contract one more year, he'll make $2.7M more than the MLE.
I wonder if he is also looking at the same "with Wall" stats that I posted a few days ago. When alongside Wall, Ariza shoots 42% from 3-point range and has a .625 TS% overall. If his season averages next year can be a little closer to those "with Wall" numbers( because he'll plays alongside Wall more often next year), then it'll only boost his market value.

Ariza has already said in no uncertain terms that he's not opting out, so I think we can put that thought to bed.

Nothing about Ariza personally, but there are plenty of cases where players have changed their mind to gain a financial advantage. I don't think opting out would be bad from a PR perspective for Ariza. If he stays with the Wizards he will be cheaper the first year. If he goes to the other team, he can claim(correctly) that he wanted a long term deal.

When does that decision officially have to be made? I wonder if it is before or after the draft, and if it is after could his decision be affected if the Wizards draft a SF such as Porter?

It would probably be before July 1st, since that is when the nba year starts. However it could vary by contract.

Jaret Jack is playing like a stud in the playoffs so far, and, apparently, is planning to resign w/Golden State. This means our Webster MLE plan looks intact. But Beno Udrih is way overpaid right now, and probably won't be making nearly that much next year. If Orlando goes PG in the draft, I wonder if Udrih is available for the BAE. If not him, Jamaal Tinsley might be good to bring in for that or less.
