I'm getting frustrated with the lack of info. I can't find anything about any kind of workout schedule for the Wizards. Let's get the ball rolling!! I mean what are they waiting for?

I remember watching Nick Young's workout being pretty sure he was gonna be a Wizard. That was cool to see.

I'm tired of going through all the same reports. We need some new info!!!!!!!!!!! Put out a schedule at least for crying out loud!

I need some rumors and some workout reports! Let's get the ball rolling!! I mean what are they waiting for? I can't take another month of this!!!

:hoop:

A RealGM post about James Southerland's workout schedule noted that the Wizards was one of about 8 teams for whom he was auditioning.

Southerland is sort of intriguing as a late second round pick, although he may also go undrafted. He's a rangy 6'8", good size, a great 3-point shooter (if streaky at times) who could also run the floor in transition and rebound some. Coming out of Syracuse, it's hard to say how his defense would be. His range extends to the NBA three, so he could carve out a small career just doing that.

angelo sharpless will workout for the wizards on june 3rd. 6 foot four guard who comes from a small school and is a ridiculous dunker. Apparently dunked over a standing plumlee brother during barnstorming games and its on youtube. Also did a dunk where he had a defender backpedalling to the free throw line, bounced the ball off the ground over defenders head onto the backboard, caught it and reverse dunked it...

I also am intrigued by southerland, six eight shooter with a 7 foot one wingspan and possibly elite standing reach as well ( need to double check standing reach)..they did say in scouting report they're not sure about his defense but he has in the gym range on his 3 point shot.

thanks for taking my suggestion and starting thread so we can know who to research

yup southerland has a 7 foot 1 wingspan and 8 ft 10 standing reach. He has otto porters size and is longer and has a bigger standing reach than every small forward not named rudy gay, paul george, durant and whatever lebron has grown to.
when you look at all the elite small forwards in the league they all have a plus seven foot wingspan and a standing reach in the vicinity his reach is in. For comparisons sake barnes standing reach is 8 foot 5. Granger might be 8' 7'..but durants is a ridiculous 9 ft 2 inches

Yeah I like Southerland. I gotta figure their thinking he might go undrafted, and he'd be a nice training camp invite. Could be a Cartier replacement/upgrade.

Can someone reassure me that we bring in no name prospects every year for workouts just because? I seem to recall we (and other teams) always do this, but I'm not positive. Because these guys aren't even being invited to any of these bigger combine/workouts, and they are completely off the radar on any draft sites.

I know a decent amount about Miguel Paul because he played at MIzzou my freshman and sophomore years. He transferred because he wasn't good enough to get minutes at Mizzou anymore (although to be fair, he had a lot of competition between Marcus Denmon, Kim English, Phil Pressey, and Michael Dixon).

My fondest memory of Miguel Paul is that he wore number 3 ("mp3") because Chris Paul wore number 3 as well, and he claimed to be Chris Paul's cousin when he came to Mizzou as a freshman, but a few months into the season a reporter asked Chris Paul about Miguel, and Chris said he had never heard of him, and it later came out that Miguel was making the entire thing up (I think he claimed there was actually some distant relation between the two, but they had only met briefly once at one of Chris Paul's basketball camps or something). Anyways, just a fun story that you might get a good laugh out of, and hopefully it makes it clear that this kid is a scrub and has no future in the NBA.

Summer league, probably looking at a couple of guys from that list, maybe head into camp with 1 or 2 of them.

Clarke was among six players who worked out Monday for approximately two hours. The others were guards Tyler Brown (Illinois State), Miguel Paul (East Carolina) and Angelo Sharpless (Elizabeth City State), and centers Gregory Echenique (Creighton) and Ehimen Orukpe (Wichita State).

For what its worth. I guess they are just warming up. Kind of like Preseason draft evaluation.
