Doc Rivers might leave Boston any interest?

I like our coach but Doc Rivers is a great coach! we should not even hesitate and try and get him if he is moving on. Heck! i rather see him in our FO than EG .
Thoughts? alot of coaches and we haven't sniff any its pretty disturbing.

I don't think coaching is a major problem with the Wizards. I think a lack of depth and only two young talented players is the major problem.

I think it says a lot that the team would rather stick with Wittman over Rivers because "he's cheap and does a professional job."
I would value winning and championship experience above all else, but it's not my money.

Rivers seems flaky, but that's just me. Honor the contract.

It's amazing how much Doc's reputation improved once Boston acquired Garnett/Allen.

Doc has been a nobody in this league until the big three in BOS got together and had their title run. The guy isn't all that good. The "leader of men" nonsense sells well to people I guess. His COY award with ORL was also undeserving.
Good coaches shouldn't need 3 future HOFers to make their team relevant.

Doc doesn't want to go through another 2006-2007 season there.

So is Phil Jackson not a good coach? He's only coached HOFers throughout his career. What about Popovich? He had the greatest pf of all time at his disposal.

I've seen a sufficient sample size of Doc sans HOFers to know he isn't he's all he's cracked up to be. He may be a good leaders...but that isn't what this team need. Rondo is arguably the only guy that he's Developed to be amazing considering his draft stock.
Until I see Pops players break down I can't comment on how he'd do...and you can't seriously possibly believe Doc is in the same league as Phil and pops.

Doc Rivers is a top five coach. He's not coming here, don't know where he's going, but did some of you guys watch the Celtics this year? HOFers? Those guys are three years removed from their prime if not more, and his best player, Rondo, blows out his knee mid-season and they still make the playoffs. He has a ring. His teams play hard. They play defense.
He can coach my team any day. Witt is a contemporary of Rivers and somewhat similar but there's no question I'd go for Doc but I doubt he has any interest and neither does Ted.

For what it's worth, Bill Simmons would argue that Doc used to be pretty mediocre, but has actually improved at various aspects of high-level coaching. He was always good with players, but learned how to tighten his rotations and create better schemes "on the job."
Simmons is not the finest mind in basketball or anything, but he does pay a heck of a lot of attention to Boston basketball, and he usually has a good feel for coaches, oddly enough.

So what you guys are indicating is that our coach is better than Doc Rivers? lol idc if its money or not he is a winning coach who needed some talent around thats every body. He is a good coach of how he designed his team !
Even if not for coaching I rather have him in our FO ..as a coach you can only do so much you need some talent around. Thats for any thing tho in any sport! talent-coaching =Championships its as simple as that.

No, the Wizards don't seem to have any idea about how and when to strike. If and when they hire a new coach (or a new GM) they'll likely sit on their hands until late in the game, pass up on premier names and talents (we wouldn't have a chance with them), fail to uncover emerging talent, and end up with some lifer retread with a "good track record" or some such rot.

I'd love Doc Rivers as a coach. I think he's great. He would definitely take the team to another level of consistency. That said, he costs more than a value meal at Arbys, and we've already invested a happy meal in Wittman, so no, it ain't gonna happen.

I'd rather have George Karl, much better coach for this team imo.
I expect them to stand pat with Wittman, which isnt so bad.
