Maynor's career stats are pretty uninspiring.

Alright. But for the ACL injury I liked the kid. Was pulling for him. I think my metaphysics thread liked him

found it:
Point Guards:
------------------
Eric Maynor (6' PG) 6/11 Gem3. -- Limit Pushers -- Courage to push boundaries, and the will to overcome them. Expansive and aggressive in mind. Well-versed in field of specialty. Unafraid, danger is a necessary stimulus, once they have reached the limit where others stop they desire to push on. Grounded in one discipline, they devote all of their energies to it. Intense, highly competitive, the will to win is strong. Rather go out in a blaze of glory-- but the play is the thing more than the result, They will compete with abandon regardless, end result of winning or losing is secondary. Function well as team members, but act best as leaders. As teammates they recognize the importance of individual effort and subjugating ego for the common good. Well-directed, positive, diligent, if stubborn and wearing.
(Jacques Cousteau, Joe Montana-- hmmn... no ballers of note-- Joey Graham, Chuck Hayes...).

meh. he's better than Price
and he played really well towards the end of the year. I was hoping for more of a combo guard but I am suffice with this.

Just curious as to why? I think if it's him & Wall, Wall could fill that role nicely no? Lol i'm just curious.
I do think it's a very good pick up. Really gives the bench a pure leader to run the 2nd string. Good pick up & is only getting better from the injury. Solid pick. You guys are really starting to make some nice moves.

Solid pickup Wiz fans. Kid can still play, should be a really nice backup for Wall.

Shooting. I can't envision Wall being on the floor with the other guard not being a natural 3 point shooter.
Maynor's shot is streaky, and his stroke is hideous.

Re: Wizards agree to terms with Eric Maynor
i am however content with the signing. Maynor can definitely run a team better than Price and I feel better with him as the backup rather than Price.
It is definitely a good fit.
Not the best fit, still pretty good.

Wall-Maynor
Beal-?
Porter-Ariza
Nene-??
Okafor-??
You think you guys will resign Webster to play the 2?
You think Jan Vesely can play the 4?
You guys extend the QO to Seraphin?

Re: Wizards agree to terms with Eric Maynor
Was going to be a very good backup and solid starter before ACL injury. Not sure about this move. Not a great long-range shooter before or after the knee injury. Though to correct myself, I see his numbers at Portland were pretty good. Being a fan of the CAA, (not A10), happy to see another conference guy on the Wizards.

I like this signing on a personal level, as I attended VCU the same time he did and watched his collegiate heroics firsthand. However, he has been shaky since he tore his ACL. Hopefully he can put his recent struggles behind him and become a nice contributor for the Wiz.

Pointless signing. This does nothing to improve the team, and Price had a higher PER than Maynor last season. AT BEST, this is a lateral move, and a typical Ernie Grunfeld signing.

Maynor shot 38% from 3 with Portland although it was a small sample size. Not as good of an assist turnover ratio as Price though.

He's better than Price. He struggled at OKC last year coming off the knee injury and did better in Portland. He's more of a pass-first point guard, which isn't a bad thing.

I hate to be the one to say it, because I seem to always say it, but terrible signing.
The guy is simply not very good. No other way to put it. We've officially downgraded from A.J. Price.

Re: Wizards agree to terms with Eric Maynor
I think he can hold his own at the back up point guard spot a very decent signing.

I'm going on record, I hate the signing. I think Maynor's trash. He's the Chris Singleton of NBA PG's. AJ Price is a better option.
