Hey guys, hope you don't mind me posting this as its own topic. I didn't see a general rumors thread or anything.

Take this with a grain of salt but an acquaintance of mine ran into Antawn Jamison at LAX. He apparently asked him if we going to stay with the Lakers and Jamison told him that he was probably going to go back to the Wizards. Again take it with a complete grain of salt, but thought I'd share it in case this was completely new information.

Ya, we've been discussing it over on the FA thread. The general consensus is "aw hell no"

He'd be a good road buddy for Nene/Okafor but Idk what else he brings other than the old guy on the bench

Probably just wishful thinking on his part. I'm from DC and live in LA now and he too probably realized what a great city DC is compared to this shithole known as LA.

I think they can only offer min deals now. Hopefully Jamison wants more.

Jamison would provide some offensive punch off the bench.

Yes, I know he can't defend but you can never have enough 3pt shooting.

I'd rather just play Ariza at the 4.

And if everyone's healthy at 2/3, Nene's health remains unpredictable, and Booker/Singleton/Vesely/Seraphin as a group continue on their path, there will be some minutes there. I guess Ariza is an OK stopgap stretch 4.

His game log is decent. I think we'll get him for the minimum which is better than some scrub who I will be pained when they hit the floor. For the value yes I would love him here.

Also another thing is other franchises have people who are proud to be alumni of it so to speak. People who go back to it and are happy to help out current players. We needed a stretch forward and for the minimum jamison will definitely do. I think this board has gotten to crying over everything cause of the tough times we've had but I like how we are currently constructed. Jamison can be hidden in spots and like the rest of the team is high character. Why not. In fact I expect it then more crying afterwards.

Their defense is almost equal... I'm not sure what jamison price tag will be but you can prolly fit twenty jamison into that space

Honestly, I have no problem with the move. Jamison can't defend but unlike his last stint, he'll be surrounded by guys who can (and playing 15-20 mpg, he'll probably make more effort). I just hope he can get his 3PT% from the .350 range to the .370-.380 range so he can be a true stretch 4.

Not so fast. This is from July 3rd. Other teams are pursuing Jamison, including the Spurs and the Nets, where he could be reunited with his good buddy, Andray Blatche. :)

Los Angeles Lakers free-agent forward Antawn Jamison had a cast removed from his surgically repaired left wrist Tuesday and is expected to be cleared to play in a month, a source said.

Jamison has received inquiries so far from Dallas, Charlotte, Atlanta, Washington, Brooklyn, San Antonio, Memphis and Utah, the source said.

Jamison is still a better than average offensive player.

As much as I despise the notion of him coming back, I'd rather sign him than trade away the 2014 1st to acquire an upgrade in the front court.
