The summit was not about the band whose concert I missed over at the Capital Centre back in the day.
This summit was about actual rats.
I find this hilarious because the rats were there long before the gentrifiers arrived.
Deal with it.

Complaining about rats in an urban environment is almost as ridiculous as whining and complaining about sharks after moving to a beach.
Typical gentrifiers & transplants.

You douchebags wanted to be urban?

Well, of course, no one wants rats around, so their reaction is pretty normal. But I do admit finding hilarious the quote from the woman who shrieked upon seeing one and plaintively asked, "Why are they so close to me!?!?"

Um, the rat is probably wondering why this shrieking harpy is so close to IT. You've set up shop close to its burrow, honey -- why wouldn't it be all up in your face?

These gentrifiers & yups complain about everything. They disgust me more than the rats do.

There was a time where the word RAT was a part of my everyday vocabulary and I would have welcomed these rats with open arms. It's funny how history always repeats itself.

Part of me is tempted to litter various Logan Circle sidewalks with dozens upon dozens of cheap, fresh, $5 Little Caesar's pizzas for all of the rats to feast on. The drive into Maryland or Virginia to purchase the pizzas would be well worth it. :D

What can a law-abiding resident really expect of his or her urban reality? The thing about living in a vibrant area where everything’s at your feet when you walk out your front door is that everything’s at your feet when you walk out your front door, rodents included.

I could make a valid argument that its the gentrifiers who are the real rodents.

Saw a guy on the train not wearing pants yesterday. Interesting metro ride.
Bickerstaff: who's up for kickball?!!
Ed Wood: Only if it's the no-pants variety.

MPD photo form 1984.
Gentrifiers one step behind DC natives as usual.
Gentrifiers exposed as frauds yet again.
Attention seekers do not realize the joke is on them.
Paying inflated rents so they can walk around in the subways in their underwear.
There were homeless people living in tents for FREE walking around naked across the street from the white house decades before gentrifiers arrived.

I was told once DC was built on a swamp ...

crazy talk

eventually they'll build unmanned drones like in "oblivion" to go around cleaning out the 300 year infestation that DC was literally built around.

Did you hear GW is supposed to be the Cinderella team of the tournament this year possibly going further in the tournament than they did in 1993?
I remember 1993 like it was yesterday because later on that same year Shoshanna started attending GW in the fall. :D
