Roster was set at 15, they just picked up two extra players, so...someone is getting cut or traded.

Singleton is probably gone...Wonder if we're going to cut Marshall.

Gortat was really good a couple years ago. Last year, he was hurt and not as good. Wizards could have saved themselves a pick if they'd used the BAE on a frontcourt player, or if they'd drafted someone with size in this year's draft. Oh well...

Wow.... this is BIG. You know the pick is '14 though. Why else would the Suns do it? It just better be lotto protected ! Although I'm worried why would the Suns do it unless it has a chance at being a lotto pick ?

We should keep Marshall too. He was just a lotto pick himself, what 2 years ago? Let's see what he's got. He could end up being a great backup for Wall.

My only hope is that it is a '15 lotto protected 1st. Jesus. ****. christ. I'm ok with Gortat, but not at the expense of a high pick in this draft. There better be some protection.

It's not horrible. I disagree with this being typical Ernie...it ain't bad people. It's not great, but the pick is decently protected.

Well, at least his salary isn't huge and he's on the books for one year. If he's healthy he seems to be a solid player. Also looks like the '14 pick is top 12 protected?

Best case is a push for the playoffs and make a play for a big name in the next offseason.

This. It's a pretty risk-less deal. Now what's the protection after 2014? Does it become unprotected after 2014?

I think top 14 is lottery...no? I mean...short term not a bad move...Gortat is a good center, but I'm guessing Ernie prolly OFFERED a '14 pick. Why not start at '16 or '15? If the pick was top 20 protected, I would have OK'd this...
