Whos game thread is it and what are the guidelines (Poll)

Post#1 » by hands11 » Sun Nov 10, 2013 7:11 pm

Seems we are getting away from tradition here.

For years a game thread created that correlated with a Wizards win was the game thread creator for the next game thread.

Seems someone didn't create one soon enough last time so we got a double and the double got a win.

That creates an issue.

Rules 1:

I suggest Game Thread creator gets up until 1 hr before tips off. Earlier is preferred. And if it isn't happening, you can always use the ... HANDS --- Get the Game Thread up.... Thread or something similar.

Rules 2:

If we are going to stick with the old tradition, then if you are not someone who plans to creating more then one thread because you don't post here often enough, then don't start a game thread to begin with. Leave it to the regulars.

I think those are good guidelines, but let's make it 2 hours. New game threads must be posted 2 hours before tipoff or else it's fair game for anyone. If you don't have the time, then post a placeholder game thread and then go back and edit it later.

I'm going to try and clean up the existing game thread for the OKC game so that it looks like evolushunize started it.

Better yet why don't you just delete it completely and allow whoever you want to officially start the thread. The thread was actually pretty informative and I was being negative at all. Just had no clue there was a 'tradition' attached to creating threads. A little disappointed you couldn't have clued me in on your decision and hip me to your 'traditions' before deleting what I started at the request of this guy.

I've created a game thread before not having been the creator of the previous game thread. Why was nothing told to me then? Is it because another poster didn't make a whiny thread calling for action?

Being the Wizards, it is likely those threads were after a loss. The tradition only covers wins.
