GT #14: Lakers @ Wizards 7 PM CSN

The Kobe-less Lakers are 7-7 with Pau Gasol looking like his old self the last couple games and their SG situation seems like a good game from Nick, then a good game from Henry with those guys alternating bad shooting nights. Steve Blake has been diming it up setting up that team of late.

And we're Beal-less.. and Ariza is probably playing tonight. Wall should have another big game against the Lakers as he did in March.

Good to hear that Ariza's probable. It'll be interesting to see Webster and Ariza together in the starting 5. That's a big team.

Yeah, big starting group but it also means there's not much off the bench. And if Ariza ends up playing some PF, it could mean lots of Temple/Maynor.

I just hope they take this rag-tag Lakers group seriously. No relaxing because you're playing a seemingly undermanned team at home.

Lakers not playing undermanned. Have a deep bench, even without Kobe and Nash. Gasol has picked up his offense last few games, but his d continues to be bad.

this game all depends on Witt. We win if Beal and definitelly if both him & Ariza were playing but Beal is out. Now it comes to the lineup & rotations. If Ariza & Webster start then we win and Wall plays great. If he starts Ariza & Temple then all bets are off and Wall could possibly struggle bad. Then by time the idiot Wittman tries to fix it, it will be too late. He better start Ariza & Webster

Agreed, that's why I said "seemingly undermanned". I don't want the Wizards to look past them as just a bunch of bench rejects. These guys are ballin' and have proven that they can beat anybody.

Lakers perimeter d has improved with Nash out. Blake has been playing as great as I've ever seen him, scoring and passing the ball. His d against Wall though, it most likely will be torched because of his quickness. But Lakers interior d with Gasol is pretty bad. Hill has been good. Gortat should have a field day against Gasol.

I was worried but it looks like Witt didnt overthink it

per Michael Lee: Randy Wittman said Martell Webster will start at SG for Bradley Beal. Chris Singleton could also be available for "spot" duty

The Lakers have a few quality wins and just as many head shakers, not sure what to make of that team. Plenty of depth, but not much individual quality.

If Kobe shocks the world with a comeback tonight, I don't see us having much of a chance.

Beyond that, the Lakers really struggle on the road where their scrubs don't get that lift from the crowd.

If Beal was healthy I'd put money on a win, but even with him out, I think we have a shot due to our overwhelming front court advantage.

Lakers don't rely on one individual, but a collection. They have the highest scoring bench, 46.7 ppg. Yes, don't have a great player like Wall, but other than him, Wizards don't stand out in the other spots. Gortat will score on Gasol, but Gasol should do the same. Nene will do his thing, but Hill has been playing great as a starter.

I know N1 get's a bad rap around here for being a knucklehead, but as a primary scoring option off the bench he's excellent. I wish wish wish wish he were on the team right now. Seriously he'd average 15ppg for this team off the bench.

And Ariza quickly reminds us why we hate seeing him with the ball
