GT: Nuggets @ Wizards (12/9/13)
Gametime is Monday at 7:00PM (EST) on Comcast SportsNet.
Nuggets last played on Saturday and won on the road against the 76'ers. Ty Lawson was out with a left hamstring injury, replaced in the starting lineup by the ageless wonder, Andre Miller. They're 12-8 on the year and, in very Wizards-like fashion, have a point guard who leads the team in scoring (Lawson) supplemented by balanced team scoring with 8 players averaging 8+ points per game.
Still out with an injury is our good friend JaVale McGee. If you've forgotten all of the good memories....

Coming off a tough loss, really important to get this one. Especially at home.
C'mon guys, let's do it!

All in all, I actually think this L may have been the best thing to happen to us. You hate to lose to the worst team in the league at home but no matter how well we were playing, I just dont look at us and see the Spurs, Heat, Bulls, Thunder, etc. By that I mean we still look like a team who is just so use to losing and getting bad press that anytime we do anything well, instead of looking hungry, we look like weve already accomplished everything. Teams like the Spurs dont get joyful over wins because they expect to win. We get so happy and we think we are the best team in the league. I dont wanna see a happy team. I want a gritty team that is determined to prove it every night.
I bet anything that we look better against Denver and I also bet that we win more of our upcoming games then we wouldve won had we not lost to the Bucks. If you lose to a great team then its like "ok we lost but they are good so it doesnt matter". I still dont think we wouldve seen that focus. Now a loss to this team makes you focus and realize that you arent the ish that you think you are "yet". You have to prove it game in, game out. Im speaking as a team and on an indvidual player level. We just dont deal with prosperity well. Now they will again get back to playing more focused, intense basketball.
Only problem is the injuries but at home maybe someone can step up. Porter or something. Then after this game, it will be 2 weeks since Beal is out. Would love to get him back Friday but I doubt it

so Im watching LA-Raps on NBA TV right now and I see them showing a preview for tomorrows matchup between the Magic-Grizz. I was like wtf? I thought we were on NBA TV tomorrow. Then I go to the sked on ESPN and they have both our games listed on NBA TV even though we play an hour apart. Im just guessing that they replaced our game for some strange reason

AKA Tragic Bronson
That was to funny.
Wizards will look better with Webster back but they are in that muddy middle until we see them find a way to win without Nene and Beal. Going to take a collective team effort and help for Singleton, Kevin and Ves. Can Otto help at all ?
Would feel a lot better about this if Beal was healthy to go along with Trevor A, Webby, Wall and Gortat.
Hope this team can make a trade that helps balance the bench better. Just not feeling it with the current contraction. To light in the pants. To many questions from the bench.
Maynor, Glen, Temple, Singleton, Kevin S, Booker, Ves and Otto ?
I'm usually seeing the cup half full about things but this team needs a shake up.
Not real excited about the additions over the summer. Maynor, Glen and Otto ?
Smelly, short bus and the thinman.

I just don't see how we can win with Nene, Webster and Beal out. We can't keep expecting Ariza to shoot 50% from 3-point range; and we couldn't even beat the Bucks when he did.
EDIT: Hmm. It looks like only Beal and Harrington are definitely out. Nene, Webster and Seraphin are game time decisions.

I thought Webster said that he should be able to play. If he doesnt then Im guessing Witt will start Singelton. If he does start Singleton, I hope he starts him at the 2 and leaves Ariaz at the 3. I think Ariza will get more looks in that spot right now

I wouldnt be shocked to see Porter play well if he can get out there with Wall. Porter is a big crowd favorite. Just a couple of baskets or hustle plays from him will energize the crowd and in turn, the team

I really don't want to see much of Singleton. I'd rather see Garrett Temple.

Well, in fairness, we took Mike Pence off their hands. Taking back Mahinmi is the least they can do.

its not so much about the positions because Wall handles the ball 100% of the time in our Offense. Therefore, its about who stands where. When we run the P&R with Gortat, most of the time he sets the pick for Wall to go right. Then after coming around the pick, Wall's head will immediatly look back left. In that view he can see Gortat in the middle or he can see the "SF" on the far corner. Thats the play Ariza has made a killing on. The SG on that play is on the same side as Wall in the near corner with not alot of room.
What happend so bad with the Webster injury is that Witt played Singelton and moved Ariza to the 2. That means it was always Singelton in the far corner getting those passes. Wall can barely see the guy on the near corner because most of the time he's going to be looking left to either shoot the J, pass back to Gortat, or pass to the far corner to the 3. The guy on the near corner is barely in his view but Wall hits him sometimes because he has a great feel for the game. Still, this is the reason why Ariza didnt score much as the game went on. Instead it was Singelton getting all the good looks and he sucks.

I dont wanna see him either but I always get the feel that he's a Witt guy. I dont wanna see much of Temple eitehr unless its the backup 1. Id rather see what Porter & Rice have but I know thats a long shot. Hopefully either Temple or Singelton can hit a J. Otherwise, we will be needing another 30+ game for Wall which will be good enough to have him leading us to a late 4th quarter lead but being too tired to close the game out

I hear what you are saying, but I think you are making way too big a deal about the positioning and not factoring the defensive strategy. Singleton didn't get more looks because he was on the "far corner". Singleton got looks because Milwaukee was smart enough to send his man to help while Ariza's man stuck with Ariza. That would happen no matter which corner Ariza camped out at.
Wall is good enough to see both corners.

It sure would be nice to get back the Seraphin who looked really promising at the tail end of the 2011/12 season. What happened to that guy? We could use someone like him with Nene out.

Seraphin just seems to be a bit of a head case. I think he got deflated mentally after the Gortat trade, knowing that his minutes would be limited. And he really hasn't addressed the obvious weaknesses in his game.
He has the size, athleticism and talent to be a good player. I have to guess he is just a head case. maybe he can grow out of it but i would not bet on it.
