Who else is excited to see some playoff basketball from the Wizards this season? They are very likely headed to have the best season since Wall has joined the team. Granted, yes, the eastern conference is a mess.. but this years post-season will be the chance for this team to breakout because they are capable of it. The guys are starting to get more comfortable with each other and watching them play smoothly in unison has been great. I am primarily a Pacers fan but I've always kept tabbed on the Wiz; while I may not have watched all of their games, I try to. There's just a lot of potential on this team.

To compliment my first question, do you see the Wiz breaking out this post-season and shocking the league? Provided they aren't matched up with the Heat or Pacers in the first round, of course.

Whether I'm ready or not, I'm pretty sure they're going to make us weight until April for playoff basketball.

Based on performance levels so far this season, the only "shock" the Wizards could pull off would be to defeat Miami or Indiana. Beating Atlanta or Toronto might qualify as a mild upset, but could be described as a "shock."

That's a definite though the way I see it they will secure a playoff seeding. If not then it would be another disappointing season, sadly.

I meant more along the lines of shocking the league with how they win rather than just who they win against. If they were to sweep (or win in 5 against) Toronto or Atlanta, as bad as people will claim those teams are, it will make a statement. That would be, the Wizards emerging as a perennial playoff team.

Barring major injury to Wall, Nene or Gortat, the Wizards will make the playoffs.

There really isn't much they can do this season to establish themselves as a perennial playoff team because two starters (Gortat and Ariza) and a rotation player/starter (Booker) are free agents. Whether they become a playoff perennial depends on the personnel moves they make this offseason.

I believe it's likely for them to return if they even at least make it to the second round, though that is speculation and you are correct. The Wiz FO might even surprise us with some big moves in the offseason.
