Happy New Year! 6pm at Verizon: Mark Cuban vs Ted Leonsis

Could i really be starting the game thread that could put the Wizards in rarefied territory? 1 game above .500?? I am sure Ted is working on Ernie's extension as we speak and mark is calling him trying to work out a trade

I'll predict a loss here—possibly by double digits.

Let's see:
Ji is bad luck. His parents named him Jihad for cryn out loud.
So naturally he roots for the wizards who have stunk for basically every year since he was born.
And naturally we have the worst injury recovery history in the league.

Ji looooves the draft and thinks we should tank every year right out the gate to win the top slot.
This year is a banner year for franchise caliber players, anywhere from 3-5 top talents likely in this draft.

BUT our GM traded away this year's pick unless we are in the lottery.

Our only hope in that regard would be that we somehow manage a string of nagging but temporary injuries to key players to drop us out of contention.

Ji starts a thread.
The Wiz start a win streak.
Brad Beal is INJURED!!! OMG NO! Of course, that's what happens when ji starts a thread, recall he was the knee killer on Gilbert's TWO injured knees. Only makes sense.
but NO! for the first time in the history of ever, a Wizard pops right back from an injury to play (well) the next game.
Wiz now display a remarkable mediocrity. Woo!
Bye bye draft pick, bye bye Embiid, Parker, Wiggins, Vonleh, whomever.

Could it be that ji starts a winning game streak for us? One bad scenario being that we sorta suck but limp into the playoffs regardless. We lose a solid pick and are passed in talent by the tanking teams, and spend our cap space trying to retain the players who helped us to that mediocrity. That's one possible scenario.

Yeah, seems plausible to me: in the year when maybe winning = losing then yes, if ji starts a thread we will win win win!~ :clown:

Pray for mercy Wiz fans...

Happy New Years to all. Alot of you know I was out of town. I want to the Thunder-Blazers game tonight. Awesome atmosphere. KD was hot until he had those back to back shots taken away, 1 due to a foul before the shot and the other due to the illegal screen by Adams. I believe things like that can break a guys rhythm. I dont believe he made another FG after that. Great exciting game though.

As for our game, I think we are a more mature team now than even a few weeks ago and are more built to handle success. We are hungry & confident. Ellis killed Beal last time so I think Beal will want to play better. Most of all the old Wall struggled against guys like Calderon but he's playing at a high level and is always even higher at home so I think he is going to go at him hard. Wouldnt be shocked to see him have like 25 & 12 in a W

Kendall Marshall shot 4-of-7 from the field for 10 points against the Bucks on Tuesday with one rebound, seven assists, two 3-pointers and two turnovers in 28 minutes.

Just sayin.....

How stupid we are for waiving him

Why?

If Porter continues to be a useful sub, then Harrington is completely unnecessary. We're better off sliding Ariza over to PF when we need a stretch four. Ariza would defend Nowitzki better than Harrington anyhow.

Who said anything about putting Harrington on Dirk? It would be nice to have him back is all. What's up with the Harrington hate on this board? I thought he played decent before going down. Savvy vet who was shooting 40% from 3. Don't want him taking any of Porter's minutes, but while he's still feeling himself out Al is a nice option to have.

Sorry. I didn't mean to come across so antagonistic. However, given the way our team is playing now, if Harrington came back, I wouldn't want him to get any minutes. I like our 3-big rotation of Booker, Gortat and Nene with a little of Seraphin/Vesely sprinkled in when necessary. Also, Porter gives us the swing man depth to move Ariza to stretch four if we ever need 3 point shooting from that position.

At this point, Harrington is an 11th man. He is really only needed if there are injuries or major foul trouble. I don't think we miss him at all right now.

Poetic justice? God, do I have to see Dan Gilbert's son at the lotto again?

I thought the fact the Wizards gave Phoenix the 1st round pick surely would have moved them to at least explore whether the young PG had game. Many on this board said Marshall couldn't play and they were fine with him being waived before ever getting a chance as a Wizard.

People are saying that the MRI is precautionary. I also wouldn't be surprised if George starts if Irving is injured since the fans have also voted Anthony ahead of George.

His experience is useful as a mentor. And he could come in handy for the playoffs. As for right now. He needs to get his rest. He is doing a great job right were he is.

Wiz have risen to 15th in defensive rating. Interesting.

And he has a cool name.

I actually liked the young man as a passing PG out of college. Didn't really take a side on them keeping him or not because I was more focused on Gortat and what that meant as the season was just about to start. And besides, they weren't cutting Maynor right after they signed him. I guess they could have cut Temple but that wasn't likely either. Just bad timing. They would have had to cut Singleton and then they would have had 4 PGs.

And he wouldn't get 28 mins for the Wizards. I'm happy for him that he landed in LA. I hope he keeps it up. He is a UFA next year. Better he goes someplace he can get playing time so he can improve his game.
