Game Thread - Wizard vs Toronto in DC 7PM Fri, Jan 3

Post#1 » by hands11 » Thu Jan 2, 2014 2:44 am

Well TOR is on a 4 game winning streak after beating Indy at home. Indy only scored 82. I guess they were hung over as well.

Wizards are going to have to get physical.

Should be a good test for the Wizards to see if they can bounce back after losing at home. Not much they could have done differently to win that last one. Shots didn't fall. It would have taken turning to a rookie just getting started in Otto as a reach. Not often will Webster, Trevor A, Nene all be ineffective on the same night.

Moving on. Crap happens. Specially the day game after new years.

The way things are shaping up, Toronto is probably going to be the 4th seed in the playoffs. If we don't catch Atlanta, Toronto is likely to be our first round opponent. Winning this game is critical in the battle for home court advantage.

Glad to see another playoffs relevant WAS-TOR game, Wiz and Tor have been in the same place in the standings so consistently for good or bad, it's destiny for there to one day be a 7 G Raptors-Wizards ECF with Antawn as your coach

I can see Tor-Was taking 3-4 and Atl falling to 5.

Who knows.

Toronto has a top 10 defense, the only advantage the Wizards have is that this game is at home, but it's going to be a good barometer of where the Wiz are as a team.

Since they traded Rudy Gay, the Raptors are 9-3, with some wins against some good teams(Pacers, Thunder) and a couple of their losses to the Spurs(the other is to the Bobcats).

Game #30... we'll probably get back to .500 and be 15-15

It's going to be hilarious to not even get over .500 and be the 4th or 5th seed in the conference.

If Toronto gets the 4th seed and we get the 5th but have a better record, who gets home court advantage?

The team with the better record gets home court. So it would be the Wizards in this example.

Raptors have the 5th best road record in the league at 9-7 if my memory doesn't fail me.

They're playing damn well right now, I do wonder how sustainable it is. I don't expect for us to shoot THAT bad again. Offensively they aren't the most intimidating bunch around but they just have solid, to considerably above average players everywhere. Kinda like memphis of two seasons ago.

Wall should handle his business against Lowry. Beal and Ross will probably be a wash. Derozan is better then Ariza.

Amir/Tyler vs. Booker/Nene should be a wash as well. Val should own Gortat.

The Denver Nuggets have suspended point guard Andre Miller for two games due to conduct detrimental to the team.

Miller will miss Denver’s home game against the Memphis Grizzlies on Friday and will not travel with the team for Sunday’s game against the Los Angeles Lakers at Staples Center.

Miller had an incident with Brian Shaw during Wednesday's game. Should the wizards trade for Andre Miller?

Interesting, your team might be able win the game if they bring their energy right out of the gate. Our guys might have a hangover.
