Where are all of you who applauded the signings of Harrington and Maynor? Who gave Ernie a high grade for his offseason?

Go take a look at what Dejuan Blair is doing this year. As to a better PG -- pin the tail on the donkey would have produced a better result than Maynor.

We all know Ernie blows. It's hard to keep beating a dead horse when we know the owner is too spineless to do anything about it though.

The oddest thing about Ted is that he's at almost every game. Even a lot of away games. He seems to be really invested in our team but just seems completely clueless. I just don't understand how he can be okay with whats happening right now.

People make fun of Snyder, but I wouldn't mind an owner who consistently swings for the fences for the wiz.

If the team is profitable, I'd be he's okay with whatever product ends up on the floor.

Question for our resident Milwaukee fan:
What are the chances that Milwaukee actually trades Sanders? He has been a real attitude problem for them, and he's due $44M over the next 4 seasons. He's also a bit redundant with Henson. Any chance we could somehow trade some combination of Gortat, Ariza and/or Porter for him?

I would love to send Ariza to Memphis for Prince and a pick. Then send the Memphis pick plus Gortat to Milwaukee for Sanders. PPP issues would play a role. The three teams would have to add a few minor filler contracts to make it all work out (guys like Ridnoir and Temple).

I disagree. Ted's a billionaire and could probably care less about a few extra hundred thousand dollars. If Ted was in it for the money, he would use all the money he's invested in the Wizards and invest in something else. He would see a much larger return on some other investment than owning a basketball team.

You said it - the PPP makes it extremely hard (though possible) to make a Sanders trade this season. The question Milw faces is - can Sanders and Henson play together. They have somewhat similar strengths and weaknesses, and does that preclude them from teaming well. I think they gotta try it, and see how it goes - and play Giannis with them. If it looks promising, expect Ilyasova to be the one they look to trade. I'm sure they're hoping he regains his form (He always starts out slowly, and this year that was exaserbated by several nagging injuries), so they can get some takers for him. It's frustrating (or convenient?) that as soon as Sanders got healthy, Henson got injured.

We need to trade anyone not named Wall, Beal and maybe Porter for a young promising big if it is even possible. There's not many names out there at the moment but they should be popping up as we get closer to the trade deadline.

Enes Kanter might be easy to get as he only played about 21 minutes in December which is significantly down from his 30 in November.

We could have gotten either Al Jefferson or Millsap very easily in hindsight if we had known that moving our 2014 first was an option. I'm shocked the Jazz let both of them walk for nothing.

The Al Jefferson bobcats signing makes me want to cry. He's the perfect big for this team--a guy who can stretch the floor with a better jumpshot than Gortat while also being one of the best post players in the league. He's a 17 and 10 player for the Bobcats right now and his contract is up at the same time as Nene so we'd have a ton of money available to chase after Durant.

Or, looked at another way -- the league's least productive center (Seraphin), the league's 4th least productive PF (Harrington), the league's 5th least productive PG (Temple), and the league's 10th least productive PG (Maynor). That's using my rating system with a minimum of 100 total minutes played.

Seraphin, by the way, is the league's least productive center for a 2nd straight season. At least he's finally out of negative PPA territory for this season -- he's all the way up to a 2. League average is 100.

Hey, we have consistency and continuity with Seraphin.

I'd add Singleton to the list of easily releasable players. I't sad when you have 5 players that fit that word. But I think Harrington's the most likely guy to go - since he's got the trifecta - wasn't a draft pick, doesn't have another year on his deal, and gives them the injury excuse.

Harrington arguably adds the one specialty that our team lacks, a stretch four. With that in mind, I would be a bit surprised if they let him go, particularly with all the talk about how he is so good in the locker room. GM's and coaches (particularly those with their necks on the line) tend to favor veterans anyhow. (Caveat, if it looks like he'll never get healthy, then, yeah, he could be cut.)

If someone is to get cut, I think the most expendable is Singleton. There is nothing he does that can't be done better by 3 other guys on the team (Ariza, Webster and Porter). Seraphin sucks, but at least he's a big body who can defend the post when Nene is out or hurt. Vesely sucks, but at least he can get some offensive boards and bring a little defensive energy. I don't disagree with your logic, but I'm trying to step in EG's fungus infested Chuck Taylors. He's not going to face the wrath that comes with cutting one of HIS 1st round picks. When I heard Harrington had an infection in the knee, that's when I said I'd bet that his career is over. The knee was already questionable, and adding an infection issue... that was the equivalent of Dr Ruz gave him a thumb down at the colliseum.

Also rumor has it that Greg Monroe doesn't even want to be in Detroit after his contract runs up. Minnesota gets a massive return for a guy they know isn't leaving, they get Monroe and josh smith who are both amazing plus they get possible draft picks from dc only if that's neccisary plus they get kcp who they loved last year in the draft. MIN would have the same issues that DET is having with Smith at SF. I think that would be a deal breaker.

I would question the wisdom of moving Love even if I anticipate a departure following the 2014 season.

Cap space is far more valuable than a poor fit and contract, and if worse comes to worse, they can attempt to recover some value with a deadline deal, or a sign and trade.

Minnesota isn't gonna do a darn thing signing a star with that cap space. Be real here. They can have all the cap space they want but this is easily their best chance to get 3 good players in smith kcp and Monroe. They could even move Monroe smith or peckovic right after this. All of them have plenty of trade value. And then there would be no more log jam after a trade

A team like the Knicks(if Melo leaves) nets suns mavs Boston if they decide to try to win, even the rockets could try to pull a deal. Point is there's plenty of teams that would love to have smith even at that money, and pek Monroe or smith could each fetch a solid package
