Tough one. It was a real team victory.

I think I'll go with Beal. He had a great start but a so-so 2nd half until late. He hit the clutch 3 late in the 4th to bring us back, and his rebounding and defense were solid all night. I thought he did a better job than Wall when he was matched up with Augustin.

Nene was a close second. Very few of his buckets were easy, yet he still maintained a good efficiency. Those shots at the start of overtime were huge. And he had to battle with Noah and Gibson all night. I don't think Gibson got many of his offensive boards when he was matched up with Nene.

I'd give 3rd place to Trevor Ariza. He completely silenced Augustin once Wittman made that switch. Augustin got NOTHING late in the game. Ariza was the unsung hero IMO. Completely changed the complexion of the game with his D. He also quietly had 7 assists.

Beal. Outstanding game. Hit shots like we know he can. Teammates also moved the ball well.

Shout out to Joey Crawford for the epic troll call at the end.

Beal, and it's not even close. His clutch scoring in the 4th was the difference in the game. Incredible the way he played to send the game into OT.

Ariza. If he doesn't shut down DJ in the 4th, we lose.

Tough to call, Augustin's offense was killing us until Ariza started to cover him, he was long enough to bother him from the side and behind more than Wall or Beal. But Beal was tough and clutch at the end on both ends of the court, so I'll give it to him by a whisker.

Kirk for getting Beal riled up and then blowing the free throws.

WIZARDS

Good team win. Lots of players pitched in. Even Webster did his thing and Professor started slowing down DJ by back backing him down before they put TA on him to close. And remember the Booker rain maker ? That was a HUGE shot.

Beal, Nene, Wall, and TA all played major roles.

It was really only Gortat who didn't get much done.

But Nene and TA were the ones that took it home in OT.

I would actually say Nene because he played great all game and closed out the overtime with those huge points.

Beal seems like the easy choice but I'd actually go with Ariza too. Augustin was killing us and making it look easy until Ariza got on him. Augustin was 8-14 until Ariza was put on him and went 2-8 the rest of the way. If Ariza doesn't shut down Augustin, it doesn't matter what shots Beal is hitting cause we're probably down by 10. A game saving adjustment by Randy. I also didn't realize Ariza had 7 assists last night too, lol.

BEAL gets my vote but HM to Athreeza.

When the under-six timeout of the fourth quarter arrived, Augustin had 25 points. The Wizards tried John Wall, Bradley Beal and Andre Miller on him, hoping to collectively push him to undesirable spots on the floor. The problem? Augustin's jumper was falling and he was slithering away, often by declining the ball screen, as we suggested he might in our preview.

Faced without any answers, Randy Wittman called on his small forward to lock D.J. down. And lock him down Trevor did.

From that point on, Augustin didn't score. More significantly, he only took three shots, and at least one of those came when the Wizards were caught in switches and Augustin found a different defender on him. The Wizards had no answer for Augustin when he had the ball, so Ariza simply didn't let him get it. The Bulls were forced to run their offense through Kirk Hinrich, and the former Wizard kept clanking jumpers and failing to find open players. Chicago's offense, for the second straight night, was toast.

I want to give it to Beal for his scoring. However, this was really a team effort. Everyone played their role. It was team D that won the game.

other: Ariza, for his lock-down D on Augustine.

My thoughts exactly, POTG has to be Beal.

too hard to pick - good/great cases to be made for each of Ariza/Beal/Nene.

I might go with Nene for the OT offense as well as 'winning' the late jump ball.

How nice is it to have Beal in the conversation at 20 yo.

Gotta go with Beal. Really carried us down the stretch during the 4th quarter comeback.

Too hard to pick one guy, because of the many ups/downs of the game and the many critical moments, but I'm surprised (well... actually I'm not) that no one mentions Booker for the honor (tho Hands did point to one of the big shots he hit).

Booker had 5 rebounds in the 4th quarter alone; he made his only shot and went 1-2 from the line.

+1

I voted Nene as well.

And as for having Wall and Beal winning in the playoffs, all of a sudden the Wizards are a place free agents will accept less to be a part of.
