Porter didn't get minutes because he missed most of summer league, training camp, and the beginning of the season with an injury (time he would have used to get acclimated to the NBA game, and worked into the rotation). Our coach is stubborn and his rotations were pretty much set in stone by the time Porter was ready. So he just never got consistent minutes
I don't know if there's a consensus or anything, we pretty much all look at this year as a redshirt and we'll see what he is next season. A few impatient posters have cooked up various trade scenarios involving him in packages, but it's pointless--we don't now how much trade value he has till we've seen him play more.
