Round 2, Game 6 Pacers at Wizards 8pm 5/15/2014

Post#1 » by jeffsays » Wed May 14, 2014 2:48 pm

After an amazing game 5 beat down, can the wizards keep up the momentum and force a game 7 or will this be their last game of the season? Either way, I can say it has been an enjoyable ride that I won't forget anytime soon. LETS GO WIZ!!!

Also the game is on ESPN. Hope that we don't get Doris Burke, she's so mono toned and boring.

I'll edit this later with more info.

I'm pretty nervous about tomorrow night. Its not just the fact that we have struggled at home during the playoffs. Embarrassing the Pacers last night on their home court will obviously give them all the incentive they need to bring it tomorrow night. Moreover, I can't see Gortat going off again like he did last night or John being as hot from outside.

I think Nene is going to have to finally show up and have a big game for us to win. Obviously, we will have to get contributions from Beal, Wall and Ariza as well, but I think Nene will be the key.

Hope that other game thread started by a troll didn't jinx this one.

Ive hardly ever seen Wall find his rhythm only to suck or lose it the next game. He will play well and when he does then I dont see Indy beating us

Nene gets caught "doin too much" sometimes. He'll drain an entire shot clock looking for the perfect cut to the basket that usually results in it bouncing off the guys knees/hands or it's never there and he settles for a long two.

Or he has an electrifying first step that gets him directly at the rim and you think, "surely its a dunk or going to the line" but he tries to put some soft english on the backboard and its up hitting the ground and they get a fast break off of it as he's complaining to a ref.

Don't get me wrong, I appreciate Nene when he's on, but he's the very definition of inconsistent.

And where the hell did his mean/cocky streak go? He just seems out of it.

I think I'm still gonna need handicapped seats. My big bulky brace is
off but I'm still not really walking nor able to bend my left leg much
at all. But I plan to be there.

We need Nene shoot ~ 50%
We can't let PG go for > 30
We can't let Hibbert go for > 15 or 6-7 boards
We can't turn the ball over more than ~ 13-15 times
And we can't let Stephenson suddenly come out with a great game

BB! Get yourself another 25 pt game taking GOOD shots.
TA - lock up PG

And perhaps most importantly as the head of the snake, John, you must
dominate Hill. Stop getting stripped on so many drives. Use your
physical advantages.

And lets go bench!

Maybe team need some rotation mixing. Move Gooden and Gortat to board and search for second chance points. Beal and Ariza must recall first game, those 3 point shooting will be needed.

I think if we outscore them we have a great chance to win.

The Bulls series I went to games we won, Pacers series games I went to we lost, maybe I should stay home for Game 6. Hopefully the Bball Gods can use that and cancel out millieievanilly making a GT.

.
We are due. The Pacers have GOT to feel rocked by their big loss.

While I imagine that Vogel will "coach them up" (oh how I love that phrase in the Spurrier-irony context) to come out of the gate on fire, Wizards have just got to keep their heads about them and answer energy with greater amounts of energy and aggression on their own. We shouldn't expect an immediate big lead (and we need to all remember that last night, the Pacers had a small lead in the second quarter).

But what we NEED from the team is continuous, nonstop, 48 minutes worth of attack mode. On D, we have to be mad dogs. On offense, we need to be quick, decisive, attack the cup if we get a break or find a crease, if not, quickly move the ball out and play inside-out.

I can't believe that the Wizards are still selling seats on Ticketmaster for the game (as of 10 a.m.). I wish I could go (have daughter duty).

Ain't nobody on these boards, from this point forward, need to be all woe-is-me and predicting a loss of their own home squad, in their home gym, just so that you can emotionally insulate yourself from disappointment based on Wizards/Bullets history. Today is today. We live in the moment. We battle, fight, and -- ulimately -- maul the Pacers; taking everything and giving them absolutely nothing now. This season. With no ties to the past.

Wizards are my boys and I'm never abandoning them. They'll continue to be resilient, aggressive, energetic and prideful. We got this.

There are plenty of peeps (I know of 6 including me) who are avoiding the game simply due to previous two home efforts. I'm still all about the Wiz but I refuse to go tomorrow out of fear of disappointment. The scar of last Friday is very real.

Ticketmaster is funky because you see both original tix from the team's inventory as well as tix on the secondary market at the same time. Unless you toggle to turn off the resale tix.

Screenshot below as of 2:45 Wednesday (just now). Everywhere there's a medium blue, tickets are available from the Wizards. Amazing.
