Will The Wizards Be A High-profile NBA Franchise in 2014-5?

After years of anonymity, does the recent media love affair with the Wizards mean that they will be one of the NBA's high-profile franchises next year? For example, will the NBA schedule multiple Wizards' games for national TV slots on Thursday and Sunday in 2014-5, and will the Wizards get a Christmas day game slot?

Got to believe, that regardless of the outcome of the Pacers series, the Wizards are going to a "hot" team heading into 2014-5, with a lot of hype heading into next season.

wouldn't surprise me, but it might also depend on how they manage
what is going to be a difficult offseason. And nobody, well, very few,
have much faith in EG to make that happened. If they manage to sit
tight by re-signing MG and TA, they should be OK unless/until Nene
breaks down (again).

They'll be on National TV a bit more but watch us go back to the lottery due to EG's horrible upcoming offseason, injuries, and the curse of Les Boulez #SoWizards

I would expect a couple of nationally televised games, but not much more than that.

Man, you must live under a cloud....such gloom-and-doom. Are you hoping that the Zards and EG crash and burn this summer just so you can say "I told you so?" Most of your posts certainly sound that way.

Do you get any joy out of the Zards current success...and the possibility that it might continue?

Not as-long as Ted & Ernie are running things. We need either a big FA signing, or 2-3 years of deep playoff runs to put us on the national media radar.

I want Grunfeld gone so we can get championships.

Only way it happens is a big time collapse next year. But hopefully they stay healthy so he can't use that excuse again.

And if they don't collapse next year and, in fact, continue to get better (maybe win 50 plus games) and receive more national recognition would that be alright with you?

Can't wait for some more games on ESPN with Doris Burke dropping knowledge.
She's the greatest.

I think it will depend on what the other teams do during the off-season. Example: LeBron and company bail on Miami - don't expect to see many Miami games next year.

In the words of Buck, that scenario is...

Not Possible.

Well, it certainly seems like you hope its "not possible." ...which is sad and not what I'd expect from a so-called Zards fan.

Its sad that the worst GM in the NBA has been here 11 years. That's sad.

Make that 12 years since EG's obviously not going anywhere. :D

umm, you do realize that his most famous uttering of that phrase was in reference to something that was not only possible but had actually happened. Just sayin...

I've gotten more joy out of this season than any since the early 80s. I'm totally loving it. How cool is it that we are still in contention in game frickin 6 of the second round of the playoffs?

Totally agree with the sentiment here - if fans aren't able to enjoy this run, they really have taken the Curse of Les Boulez to heart, 'cause it hasn't been better than this in over 30 years.
