Not a big fan of Jerrell Eddie. He's a decent shooter from 3 (and I mean decent... not great by any means), but he's abysmal at getting to the basket and he doesn't seem to have any versatility to his game.

I do really like Deonte Burton though. He reminds me of Shelvin Mack in a lot of ways. He's a remarkable scoring PG, but his passing skills just aren't there yet. Not to say he can't develop them though. He's a phenomenal scorer in the pick and roll, which is an incredibly valuable trait. He looks like a fairly strong defender too, which is why I can tolerate his pass-first PG skills not being up to par yet. He is very good at passing to the big man in the pick and roll, fortunately, although he hasn't been very successful passing out to shooters on the perimeter. Look forward to seeing what he can do on this level in the summer league, and I could definitely see him making the roster as a third PG, perhaps in place of Temple.

Haven't seen enough of Daniel Miller to get a good read on him. Synergy stats look like he's a capable low-usage offensive player down low, especially posting up. Reports say he's a strong defender. Can't say for sure though. Should become apparent very quickly in the summer league whether he can hang at this level or not.

Burton will be a poor man's Gilbert Arenas. He's much more explosive than Shelvin Mack. I hope Burton succeeds better at impressing Wizards SL coaches more than Mack did his last season with the Wizards.

His ability to finish at the rim and his ability to run pick and roll both make me believe that Burton will be a good NBA player. He's a four-year starter who is NBA-ready.

[delete]I'm looking forward to seeing[/delete] I'd really like to see Porter and his 20 lbs of new-found muscle dominate Summer League.

'course, that doesn' mean it's gonna happen.

(edited to make it clear that it's a fantasy)

If they sign Birch or Young I might calm my anger towards them.

When did he add THAT much weight? I'd be happy if he could just tack on 10 lbs this off-season.

^ Oh, that's purely wishful thinking on part. That's what I'd "like" to see.

He's probably lost weight then, in all likelihood.

I agree CCJ.

Anytime CCJ and Ruzious both agree on a prospect, more than likely that guy is going to be a player. All we need is a Wizkev blessing and we're good to go.

I like how his college stats peaked his senior season.

Not knowing anything about him, I like his profile. His PER improved all four years. Good shot blocker, decent rebounder, converted from the field well as a senior. Good size. I like that the Wizards are bringing in seniors to fit roles at both PG and C.

I don't know how good Miller is but he seems like a solid invite.

This is the one thing I forgot to mention. He really is explosive. Watch Mike Schmitz's scouting report on him, and just watch the first alley oops he throws down. It's all you need to see to know where his athleticism is at. Impressive.

"Instead, the Wizards are going to look toward free agency as they invite players, including undrafted rookies, in to workout and play for their Las Vegas summer league team. Daniel Orton, a 6-10, 23-year-old center who was drafted No. 29 overall in 2010 by the Orlando Magic, already has accepted an invitation, CSN has confirmed. Orton also has spent time with the Oklahoma City Thunder and Philadelphia 76ers but hasn't been able to stick. "
-J Michael.

So we got Daniel Orton, and to be honest he's been playing well in the D league, so maybe he can find a place. I would like him better than Kevin and Harrington.
So we got,
Deonte Burton
Daniel Miller
Jerrell Eddie
Danial Orton
Otto Porter
Glenn Rice.
maybe we will get a summer league title lol.
I like Burton, I hope we are smart enough to put him on the roaster! Miller could be a nice back up center in the league, he has skills, he just needs time to develop. Glenn Rice will show up! porter need to show up! and Eddie, he can shoot the 3, that's something.

I saw a few days ago we also inked Kim English for our summer league roster.

Yeh I forgot about Kim English. Hes interesting, He can shoot the 3 ball, But he did not play as well in the international leagues last year, as he did in the D league in the year before last.

Otto said in his exit interview with the press that he was not going to focus so much on bulk as just getting stronger, especially in his core. He wants to be anavar strong. Like MJ.

This is shaping up to be a good SL squad.

The Wizards are searching the D-League and free agency, and eschewing the draft. As much as I loathe EG on draft night, I have to hand it to the scouting of Rice and Orton. Burton and Miller each put in four years at one school, and peaked as seniors.

I hope the team around Porter is solid enough to allow Otto shine without forcing his game.

I'll take everyone's advice that Deonte can actually play. I'd be quite happy with Birch, he's shot blockers/rebounder who is actually apparently competent on D (something Booker is not sadly). One of my amigos who went to va tech was tellin me that Eddie is basically a solid jumpshooter and mediocre at everything else. I have never seen this GT guy play, but he looks like a stiff among stiffs. Least he isn't allergic to rebounding like Seraphin.
