Honestly, I'll think we'll be ok...but it kind of stings that he signed an extremely fair contract with another team...He must not have liked DC for w/e reasons he had. **** TEXAS.

WTF? Surely he was worth $8M. Or did Ariza insist on more from us since the taxes are higher? Either way, this is frustrating. I wonder if we were actually willing to pay $8M as well. Maybe Ariza just wanted to get out of here.

The only silver lining is that, maybe, this suggests that there is a long range plan. Part of me is happy to see EG at least be willing to walk away from a negotiation rather than sign a bad deal. Maybe EG really thinks that Durant in 2016 is viable and he didn't want Ariza on the books.

I will go apesiht if we turn around and sign a collection of scrubs for the MLE on contracts longer than 2 years. That would suggest an utter lack of any coherent plan.

Have a hard time believing we didn't offer that much. Look, we all know he wanted to go West. Let's see if he gets his sweet spots in Houston. I hope they don't expect him to create his own shot. We'll be just fine. I see him going the way of Hughes to be honest.

Screw it, I'm ready to ride or die with Otto and take a shot at KD in 16. Now who can we get for MLE on 2 years?

Ariza got dogged by the Wizards.

It's tough to find good two-way players, good veteran leaders, who don't miss games injured.

He's gone to a better team.

Gortat's signing was done so fast. Paid $12M but they got real stingy with Ariza.

Harden will get Ariza many open looks. The Rockets are going to look smart for paying Ariza $8M.

The Wizards are going to miss the playoffs, and the fans will likely blame Gortat.

Not if u have the big east poty/#3 pick at the same spot. Save the money. I also trust Web more than others do. He'll be back with enough time left. We are fine...... or go get Pierce for a stop gap.

U can't draft Porter and then sign TA to 4 years especially since dimwitt never plays him at the 4. It makes no sense. U drafted him now ride with him. He's a local star too. The fans will love him

I will gladly admit to being very wrong if Otto steps up.

Dude, Ariza was not the reason we made the playoffs.

Ariza fits Houston perfectly, If they keep parsons I see harden playing point...or parsons playing 4...ariza will be they're defensive guy and will only look to shoot open shots on offense...8mil a yr isn't bad now hopefully we make some trades and get nene off our books

CCJ, you are being completely ridiculous. If I didn't know better, I would think you are intentionally trolling.

How in the world did Ariza get dogged by the Wizards? All reports were that we were offering $8M a year on Day 1. We didn't go higher because we felt that's what his value is. Guess what? Ariza signed with Houston for exactly $8M a year!

I appreciate what he brought to this team and wish him luck. I'm also excited about seeing Otto and having a bit more flexibility going forward.

With Ariza out, do you folks have the cap space and/or interest to make a run at Lance Stephenson?
