Ray Allen To Washington Wizards Thread - or KG

Ray Allen to Washington Wizards

Well we started a Kevin Durant to DC thread and now its in the press and as Steve Smith says, its DC or OKC for KD.

We have to get to promoting this double time because the window is short.

Hopefully this starts showing up in Google searches.

If anyone has contacts, please use them. Tweet it. Blog it. Spread the word.

Ray Allen would fit perfect as your 2nd SG behind Beal and man would that be sweet to see Ray get to tutor Beal for a year. Even before the draft people used Ray Allen in Beal Comparisons. I have wanted Ray Allen here when he left Boston and even last year but we never had the pull to pull it off. But now that PP has show we now do, I would actually see the long shot of this happening.

It would be perfect.

Come to DC Ray. And the make up story with Paul about make it complete. Maybe Paul can make the first move by placing a call and making up and doing the invite.

I already posted on bulletsforver asking Mike Prada to do a blog.

Maybe we can get Kev to do one.

Boston fans are already pretty much adopting the Wizards as their team this year because of PP. Add Ray Allen and the booth will be a lot more full this year. Tons of Boston fans are in the areas and Boston is rebuilding. They would love to get on board with the Wizards.

Not sure how much they got on board with PP and KD in BRK or not but with Wall and Beal here, I think we would get a big boost in our fan base locally and nationally.

That would be the cherry on the top of a create off season.

Wizards’ Bradley Beal would like to be in ‘He Got Game’ sequel

Miami Heat guard Ray Allen revealed last week that he has been in discussions with Lee for several months about doing a possible sequel to the 1998 movie “He Got Game.” The project remains in its infancy and doesn’t even have a script, but when asked recently about a possible reboot, Beal said Lee should give him a call.

“It’s my favorite movie,” Beal said.

The 38-year-old Allen helped put the movie back in the spotlight last Friday when he sported a jersey that read, “J Shuttlesworth,” for a Heat game against the Brooklyn Nets.

Beal was compared to Allen coming out of Florida and bares a close enough physical appearance to possibly play his son, if such a character is created. And at 20, Beal also looks young enough to still be in high school.

“I could. Yeah,” Beal said, when asked if he could envision himself in a sequel.

Nothing against Ray but we're already old enough even if they are only short term deals.

Our team currently consists of a 30 year old, 37, 39, 32, 31 & a 33 year old.

No Thanks.

Is tweating a mix of tweeting and eating?

I think the Wizards would be smart to add a cheap shooter. However Ray Allen will either be taking his talents to Cleveland, or his retirement to South Beach.

Yeah, well SAS has older player on their team as well and for the record 30, 32, 31, and 33 are not old in todays NBA.

The only older players would be Miller, Ray Allen and PP and Miller and Ray would only be for one year, and when you are talking about that kind of player, old isn't the main issue when you have young players like Wall, Beal and Otto in the core rotation.

Ray Allen old is more like Tim Duncan/Dirk old. You wouldn't add Tim Duncan or Dirk because they are old ?

What does age matter when you are talking about Ray Allen. Did he look old to you last year ?

Right. And KD would never ever consider coming to DC.
Nor would Paul Pierce.

Look. Paul Peirce is a starter. Ray could be another feather in our cap. KD in 2016

And its only for one year. And we have the cap room to do it.

Beal and Ray Allen on the same team ? I just got a woodie.

Not just that - he was toasted in the finals. Wade looked bad, but RayRay looked finito. I think I could drive past him at this point.

I think Glen Rice Jr can handle backup SG position just fine if given a legit opportunity.

Yep... gotta let the yung'un play. We can always pick up a Ray Allen type at the trade deadline if we have a need. I hope Randy is able to trot GRJR out for 15 minutes a game for an extended period of time early in the season.

Let's take the long view.

Actually, he did. :)

At least from a defensive perspective.

We have multiple old guys that have defensive liabilities.

Not trying to add another.

Let's just roll with Rice Jr/Webster.

Hands, has Ray Allen given any indication that he's going to play this year? I haven't been keeping up. But I thought he's considering retirement.

Did you see that somewhere? Or did you just hear about it? If you claim that you have some real evidence, would you be LYING?

We've got our eyes on you Mr. Pine.

isn't there still a rift between PP and Ray Allen? don't see it happening.

You got me good there. I thought for a moment that we signed him. ;-)
He may be an option if we need the added firepower for a playoff run...provided he is around and in shape. We probably should see what we have in GRjr before we go the Ray Allen route.
