Can't find any recent news reports mentioning Sam Cassell and the Clippers, but after that one poster beat all the major media with the Kidd-Nets scoop, I have increased faith in dubious sources.

Likely better team in a bigger market, probably a better path to head coaching.

I think it would be a bad idea to trade Cassell. He seems to have a good repore with the players, he got Pierce here, and I would have no problem seeing him take over if Wittman falters.

honestly for me it would depend on what's being offered, What if draft picks (if any) any players, Money anything, just curious to see, I would be interested.

Agree, but he's been a good soldier, and if he sees an opportunity, I don't blame him if he wants to try for it.

So Sam persuaded Pierce to come to the Wizards over the Clippers and now is joining the Clippers. Ok.

Cassell should stay with us rather than make a lateral move.

It may not be lateral. Doc may take over as GM full-time, and he may want Cassell to be his successor.

Yeah, this seems a bit ...odd. I really like having Sam here. I think he's been huge in Wall's development. Ernie better make him damn expensive.

Well, if he's getting a head coaching gig, I wish him well. But until that HC job actually opens up, it'd be a lateral move. Sam is our top assistant and he's next in line for HC here if Randy gets fired.

Nah, Don Newman is our top assistant (guy we got from the Spurs).

As with all things, it'll depend on $ first and foremost and he'll probably make more in LA.

Sam-I-am is amazing. I hope he doesn't go. Having said that, we was brought in to mentor a certain young PG who seems to have fledged. Now someone to work with a young wing? Potential Randy-successor who happens to be a fave of a a certain uber-talented wing? That's what I'd do if I'm Ern...
