The first month (including a couple of games in October) looks like a good chance to get the season off to a strong start. 8 home games versus 7 on the road (although 5 of first 7 are on the road). In that stretch we will play Milwaukee x2, Orlando x2, NY, Detroit, and New Orleans. Harder games will be CLEV x2 (likely will still be learning to gel), ATL x2, MIA (also probably in a readjustment period), TOR, INDY (again, adjustment period), and Dallas. It seems that all of harder opponents save maybe ATL (though they will also be readjusting with Horford back) and TOR are all dealing with significant roster turnover.

December looks manageable, January and February up to the All-Star break looks like the toughest stretch of the season. Close out the season after the break with a relatively manageable stretch.

I was thinking the complete opposite. I only see 2 comfortable wins in the first 10 games: Milwaukee and Detroit at home. Miami and Orlando on the road aren't gimme's and the @NY, Ind, @Tor, @Ind is a rather brutal 4 games in 5 nights.

The good news is 10 national games, including a Christmas matchup. Friday Feb 20. against Cleveland on ESPN is going to be one of the best Wizards games in a while. Dobro and other season ticket holders... that's a doozy of a dilemma between your heart and your wallet.

To finish my post off with more bad news? 5 of the 6 final games are on the road, and all are playoff teams except for Philly. I don't anticipate BKN to be in the playoff race this year (replaced by the Knicks maybe?) but it's still a nailbiting way to end the season with seeding implications on the line.

Huh, our first ten is as:

@MIA (tough opener, but lots of roster turnover)
@ORL (favored)
Mil (we will be big favorites)
@NY (tough, but I'd say we'd be favorites; tell me again what the hell they have done to improve)
Indy (favored and them minus George)
@TOR (not favored, what I few as our toughest game in first ten)
@Indy (probably slight disadvantage, quite winnable)
DET (favored)
ORL (favored)
DAL (we're probably slight favorites here)

So I count 4 games we should definitely win (@ORL, MIL, DET, ORL), 2 games that we should win (@NY and Indy), 2 tossups (@Indy and DAL), and 2 tough, disadvantaged games (@MIA and @TOR). 5 homes games and 5 road games. In short, I don't know how you consider this a tough start?

Cavaliers went from having worst 4 year record in NBA history , to being on TV 29 times, I think the world is owed and apology how overrated and overhyped cavaliers are and how 1 player can get all this attention, it makes me sick im thinking about not watching the NBA

They got Love and Irving too. That team will get ratings. Even if they fail, people will tune in just to see them fail.

Well... I don't know what else to say. I guess I'm just more worried about the Orlando games, the Indy games, and the Dallas game than you are. I really like Orlando's roster. It's a well balanced team on the cheap and their backcourt though young is going to be one of the best defensive duos in the league. Indy lost out on a ton of talent but really as long as they have Hibbert they can still hurt a lot of teams. The series last season came and went as Hibbert played anyway. It's not coincidence the two games we won Roy was in single digits and the 4 games we lost, Roy scored 10+. And Dallas? Well, We haven't beaten Dallas since Oct. 2009. I'm hard pressed to view us as favorites, even slightly.

That coupled with the 4 games in 5 nights stretch has me thinking 3-7. But hey, once bitten and twice shy and all that.

Why not just post the schedule.. Its not like its an article.

Date Opponent Time (ET) National TV
Wednesday, Oct. 29 At Miami 7:30 p.m. W 1-0 - Great chance to jump on them before they gel
Thursday, Oct. 30 At Orlando 7 p.m. W 2-0 - We have to much for them

Saturday, Nov. 1 Milwaukee 7:30 p.m. W 3-0 - To young to deal with the new front line
Tuesday, Nov. 4 At New York 7:30 p.m. W 4-0 - On a role and them still learning the triangle

That's as far as I would go for now until we see what moves IND might make, but its looking like the Wizards could get off to a really great start for one and that would go a long way to generating momentum and confidence instead of them starting the year climbing a hill like they have the last 4 years.

How many times have we opened at home in the past two decades? Couldn't be more than 5 times....

That's fine. This way we can spoil Miami's home opener.

I just checked, only four. I had no idea it was that disproportionate.

I had asked Ted that question when the email account was open and the response was arena availability. Can't they hold the arena open for a block of 2-3 days that encompasses opening night if it were important to them?

All depends on how the East playoff seeding shapes up IMO. Yes, those games could be against teams desperate for a win, but they could also feature teams resting their starters (or even tanking for a specific seed like BKN just did). Hopefully we take care of business early enough that it doesn't matter.

BRK will be in the playoffs or at least in the race.

I know there are injury concerns but I think Williams and Lopez will be recovered this year.

Overhyped, Bron-Bron (Le-Quit) just took a huge crap in MIA. Give the guy some props, he's now craped on two cities an his defecation does not stink in the TV world.
