Ok, so camp opens Sept 30th! This year they are just keeping it at Verizon Center.

With Pierce's arrival seems everyone is already here working out together at verizon, except Gooden (strange considering he lives here), Humphries, and Seraphin. Even Miller and Nene supposedly are already here.

Xavier Silas and Damion James are signed for camp, I liked James outta college but he's had some injuries. Also there apparently an offer out there for Ray Allen.

Anyway, excited basketball season is finally almost here!!

Also on a side note, funny seeing Blatche and Crawford are now teammates in China!

@ShamsCharania: Free agent swingman Rasual Butler has reached agreement on a non-guaranteed deal with the Washington Wizards, league source tells RealGM.

Good signing. Rasual definitely surprised us in Indy with his value to the team. We all assumed he'd just be waived before the season, but he really earned his spot and produced. Great veteran leader in a clubhouse, played relatively well 3 and D style production in very few minutes. No ego. Probably a pure SF at this point.

The Wizards' now have some choices to make for the the upcoming 2014-2015 regular season. They have to decide between Rasual Butler, Xavier Silas, Damian James; along with the addition of possibly Vander Blue, or Jamaal Franklin, who were invited to workout for the Washington Wizards. Washington will need to decide between younger players or if they happen to sign Vander Blue and or Jamaal Franklin( Who are both coming off their rookie season, last go around) ; or both to a training camp roster as opposed to some veteran's such as Rasual Butler and also players who have been around the league, and never found a name for themselves such as Xavier Silas and Damion James ( Who are both 26 years old). It should come down to who performs well during training camp, because most of these players can play PG and SG, with the exception of Rasual Butler, who plays primarily Small Forward, who I believe can still play both SF and SG.

It could also come down to intangibles, Size/Weight, speed everything, with the correlation with their training camp performance. I was watching videos on Xavier Silas, when he played for Philadelphia, and some of his overseas performances, His performances back in the 2011-2012 season, where he had 6 points in around 20 minutes of shooting in the only 2 games where he played.

Note Xavier Silas has been working on his game since the 2011-2012 season, and has been working out at the Verizon Center as well. I have seen videos on Vander Blue, where he showed quickness and cutting ability, I mean the Spurs had him on their roster last season. As with Jamaal Franklin I saw a video where he showed the ability to knockdown jump shots and 3 pointers, but I did notice in that video he did look fairly slow compared to the other players mentioned above, but he seemed stronger. I think the Wizards should sign Rasual Butler to the team, and also Damion James,Xavier Silas, or if it comes down to it Vander Blue or Jamaal Franklin.

You also can't forget about the possibility of Ray Allen signing , so leaving a spot open for that possibility should be O.K, although, at this point I see him retiring because there is such a delayed time before making an announcement , but there might be inside information between teams and Ray Allen, and I feel he deserves the time he needs to make a decision. It will be exciting to see if Wizards can add more depth to the guard position.

Interesting comments about the trainers and medical staff interaction. They seem to have gotten much better in this area were they used to be terrible.

Paul Paul Sighting

Also a little Double B ball handling

And whatever A Miller was doing

Interesting, when Boston had Pierce, Garnett and Allen all I heard on the board was "THEY'RE OLD" and at one time they dominate the East. The Heat put together 3 of the top prime players and surrounded them with veterans and all the complaints on how OLD they were and they dominated the East for years. They won championships and could've won more. The Spurs makes a wise decision and was able to keep their veterans in- tact and all the negative comments about how old they are and they're done. Well, with all of the talent in the West, they dominate and are the Champions.

The endless complaints about how old this team has become and how we're slow, lost our athleticism is really crazy. Oh, it's not fair to select too many veterans, we need to give the youth a chance to make the team. Give me a break! Nothing should be handed out to anyone, if they can't outplay a veteran, they don't need to be on the team! Who wants to invest their precious time on watching a losing team again, we've been there and done that! So what if this team is athletic, I rather watch a team that plays the right way than be entertained with a 360 dunk and you're team's trailing by 10-20 points! So it's awesome to make the news and be the laughing stocks of the NBA huh? I'm no longer interested in watching a lottery team and waiting patiently for the development of a player that never develops! We've been there and done that and it was a waste of time!

Perhaps some of you aren't really interested in this team at all and would prefer that old Wizards' team that were one of the youngest in the NBA. Some show flashes of athleticism and had POTENTIAL but years to develop. I'm sure if you're looking to be entertained, you can find a team that is rebuilding and can find very few veterans and alot of youth with atheleticism. I'm sure it would be fascinating to post your comments on your chances on winning the lottery.

As for me, I like the direction of this franchise and their new motto "DC Rising". I love the balance of both youth and veterans and how our top youths are eager to learn and enhance their game with no egos. I like what Pierce will bring to this team, I like the possibility of what Allen may bring to this team. I'm excited about Pierce comments on Winning NOW, a Championship. No more talk about winning in 2-3 years or when or if Durant's decision is DC. NOW is the time to win a championship. I don't see this team rating below a 2, anything lower would be a disappointment. Excited about the upcoming season and the future of this team.

If Otto plays well, then we have a good mix at SF.

Wait -- Wall is practicing the long two like he wants to get proficient at it?

Cue Kevin with statistics on the long two-point shot.

As long as Wall as hitting 100% (like he is in that video), the long two is a GREAT shot.
