Did EG give him a 2 year deal?

So EG. How-many years have we been begging for someone who can score off-the-dribble? Why do we have Temple?
Well, we could use a spark plug.

I have a bad feeling about this. He even looks like Eric Maynor.

"Wizards bring in John Lucas on non-guaranteed deal..."

Lucas wasn't bad a couple years ago, but he was terrible last year. His comps from my statistical doppelganger machine (similar production, similar age) were Chris Whitney, Richie Frahm and Keyon Dooling -- all basically at the end of the line.
But, I guess he qualifies as a veteran.

Honestly, I think this signing is the precursor to Wall playing the 2.

*Bingo* This is a key EG requirement for a signing.

In no dimensions of the universes of the worlds should any decision made about where to play John Wall be influenced by the presence of John Lucas III on the roster. Any executive or coach suggesting such thoughts should be fired on the spot.

In my dreams... EG is on the podium. The question is asked - he responds that Wittman can move John to the 2. Immediately a team runs out - grabs him, bags him and we never see him at a Wizards event again. The JLIII signing would go down in history...

Just barely. At 31, he falls way under several of the true veterans on the team.
As long as it's not a guaranteed contract (which I wouldn't... guarantee), I'm okay with this - at this point - though I'd rather signing a young guard.

According to CSN’s J. Michael, Lucas’ latest contract with the Wizards is non-guaranteed

JLIII is the worst point guard the Jazz have had in the last 15 years.

Yep, that's the key.
I'm thinking they're going to rest Wall for the rest of the preseason and they just want a guy to eat up minutes until the season starts. I figure he won't last past the final cuts.

So they brought Silas, Butler, James to the camp and for the whole preseason games... just to sign someone who doesn't play a game with Wizards before season?

I'd rather they brought Deonte Burton who recently got cut by the kings. :/
At least it is nonguarenteed.

Yup, it is entirely possible. If Wall doesn't play in the preseason, the Wizards do need another guard since Garrett Temple did play 43 minutes in the last game.
Still, sources also indicate that the Wizards are likely to keep Lucas in the final 15.
